jcompton
Has anybody looked at doing a port to the original Xbox? I'm pretty sure all the dependencies are available and used by the various Xport emulators (for example). Link to comment

jcompton
Yeah, I had been thinking about asking for it for a long time but said "eh, they'll say it's too obscure." Then I saw the Dingoo port. Link to comment
jcompton
Anyway, how can I incentivize such a port? I would be happy to ship a developer a hacked Xbox, for instance. Link to comment
lynx
I'll put this in the sticky in case someone eventually is interested. Link to comment
Guest salomonkane
For a huge fan of emulators (XPort, Madmab, OpenBor, CoinOps ...) like me, a port on xbox would be wonderful ... Do you have any details about your needs ... ? Link to comment
lynx
It maybe already works, someone just needs to try it. Then we can fix any issues. Link to comment

LOL, why don't you just try to compile it? You will keep your xbox, and get all the fame too If you get stuck with some compile error we might even fix it from afar. Link to comment

Beholder
XBOX (I) V1.3,64 MB RAM, ModChip, +EvoX 3935, XBMC : XBMC4Xbox3.0 . 64Mb is too small for GemRB, 128Mb of (FREE!) RAM needed Link to comment
Guest salomonkane
Upgrading Ram on xbox to 128MB is difficult, and generates a lot of problems (eg CPU speed), then we must have an alternative ... Link to comment
Avenger
OMG, i missed the 'original' part. So this is about some ancient XBox with less than 100MB... Well, this will definitely require the tilecache implementation before any chance. Link to comment
jcompton
Yes, that's true. 99.999% of all original Xboxes have 64 megs of RAM. Anyway, building toolchains and whatnot is not really my strong suit, and (from what I gather) the only really usable one is Microsoft's, which is a grey market maneuver since it was only available to officially licensed Xbox developers. (It has since found its way into the wild, naturally.) Like I said, I would have thought it was too constrained, but then I saw the Dingoo port so I figured 64 would be sufficient. Link to comment
