divine spell "harm" not working with scsII

Recommended Posts

The divine spell "harm" stops working for me when I install SCSII. Or, rather, the reduce-to-1hp version stops working. I did not (originally) install the 150 hit point version of it. I said "n" to that option. I just did a fresh install (after deleting the bg2 folder). Harm works perfectly for me with a BG2TOB+patch+bg2fixpack+bg2tweaks installation or a BG2TOB+patch+bg2fixpack+bg2tweaks+d0questpack installation.

I just changed the install to the 150 hit point version and that works perfectly. Then I changed it back to the reduce-to-1hp version and again it does nothing. The hobgoblin I tested on was insta-killed with the 150 hit point version, but was completely unscathed by the traditional 1hp version despite the orange burst animation indicating a successful hit. Since I like the mod so much I will continue to use it with the 150 hit point version, but I do hope that this issue will eventually be fixed.

BTW, I love this mod so much that I was having trouble playing the game without it (I just tried to because I was missing harm). The spellcasters in particular are just so much smarter and more fun to fight. But I do really like the original 2nd ed. version of harm.

My OS is XP SP3. Here is my weidu log. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help troubleshoot this issue.

Thanks, will chase.

... chase slightly slowly, as it happens.

I can reproduce this: it's a ToBEx issue (in all extant versions). Work around it by editing tobex_ini/tobexcore.ini to set "Damage Fix=0" and tobex_ini/tobextweak.ini to set "No Spell Interruption on Zero Damage=0". Will automate this in next version.

It's fixed in ToBEx now, so it seems unnecessary.
