Version 19 bug reports

Recommended Posts

I believe DavidW is away at the moment but we may as well start a new thread.

The Sahuagin in my game have a couple of instances of "Disable visual effect:291" written into their cre files rather than "Modify proficiences:233" which I guess was intended.

Improved Bodhi component doesn't seem to change her stats unless the line "ACTION IF !(FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~ibodhi1.spl~) THEN BEGIN" is removed from the tph, could be a local issue.

I think that's intentional as to avoid overlapping with Tactics' Bodhi. SCSII provides its own Improved Bodhi copied from Tactics with modern coding and David's scripting:

The SCS II version of Improved Bodhi is updated to use modern WeiDU coding (to help with compatibility-friendliness) and SCS II AI scripting. She comes in two versions: a "hardcore" version which has the same stats and powers as Westley's version, and a toned-down version with stats closer to Bodhi's vanilla-game stats, less ferocious saving-throw penalties for her spells (-4 instead of -10) and no Deathly Shroud (Bodhi's lethal Fire Shield power).
// officially we're incompatible with the Tactics version; unofficially, we try

Sure, but in any case the setup overwrites her stats and script rather than adding to them, so I'm not certain it's needed. Could be just an issue with my install, anyway.

Interesting what you can find on youtube concerning SCS II's Demogorgon (located in the video information):

Demogorgon the Pathetic starts off with a mean pre-buff, and begins casting a powerful summoning spell. If you interrupt this cast, his scripting will be ruined, and he will just melee you for the duration of the fight (bug)

His stoneskins are immune to any dispel methods (cheese-o-bug)

He does not begin the fight with time-stop, he should - written in the script (bug)

His scripting can be.. brace yourself.. dispelled (it's so buggy that it makes the other bugs look like "working as intended")

As this was during a tactics installation I could very well be, that another mod ruined it. But better safe than sorry.

Spells invoking opcode 41 lead to CTD. This isn't directly caused by SCS2 but rather by TobEx (the latest standalone version, v20, has the same issues).

They are:

BALTH02

BALTH12

MELSPL02

MELSPL11

Plus Kish07 if Oversight's Monk HLAs component is installed.

I haven't tested it in a clean ToB+ToBEx install, but in my game it was definitely opcode 41 which was causing the crashes. Either removing it from the spells or disabling ToBEx solved the problem. Other people have reported the issue: http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=22267

Anyway here are the .spl files: http://www.badongo.com/file/25484498

Thanks, they were of great help.

A typo for the completely unrelated Poison Fix caused this error. Will be fixed in future versions. In the meantime you can manually switch this off in TobEx_ini/TobExCore.ini.

However, this will not fix MELSPL11.SPL because the sparkle colour (param1) is set to Unknown (0), which causes an assertion error.

I'm not sure if I have a bug to bring to you or if I'm just being dense.

I installed the "Antimagic attacks penetrate improved invisibility" component, w/ the default option (keeping them single-target). I just had my first battle where my opponent used the SI:Div + Mislead combo, but I was unable to target him (Lonk the Sane), but I couldn't target him with Ruby Ray or Pierce Shield. The new spell descriptions say they "remove the magical protections of the closest (hostile) creature to the point the spellcaster designates," which (to me at least) implies I should be able to cast it at a point on the ground, but I can't. Since he's invisible, I couldn't figure out how to cast them at all except against the Mislead clone, which didn't affect the real Lonk at all.

If it is a bug, I'm still not sure I should be bringing it here. I've also noticed that I can't select a point on the ground to cast a spell sequencer that has only area spells; I have to select a specific enemy to cast at. So, it might be another mod or something. I can't remember if sequencers were always like that.

Here's my weidu log if it helps:

No bug mate. Since you have installed the single target component, you first have to expose the enemy caster, so that you have a target  SI:Div + Project Image (and so on) is a dangerous combination, but there are still some ways of exposing the caster: Dispel/Remove magic, Thief's Detect Illusion, even Glitterdust should work as it is a conjuration spell (at long as the caster is not protected by a Globe of Inv.). The "antimagic attack penetrate improved invisibility" component just makes it possible to target the exposed enemy, which was not possible in vanilla BG2, since a character whose improved invisibility is broken still remains slightly invisible.

And yey, you indeed need a target for the spell sequencer.

Some more findings

Gorsta06 - mage statue in WK uses vanilla mage AI.

Gorwom02 and Gorwom06 still have wtasight copied for their scripts (don't use high level/class abilities)

Some creatures with permanent haste - glabrezus and marilith - have it removed. Perhaps this should be compensated with a movement bonuses - as for the bears - because their IWD animation is quite slow.

Thieves still go invisible if in sight of PC's and blinded - I think !StateCheck(Myself,STATE_BLIND) should be added to their hiding block.

Archers attempt to retreat from melee even if they have run out of ammo, I think they should check:

OR(3)

HasItemSlot(Myself,SLOT_AMMO0)

HasItemSlot(Myself,SLOT_AMMO1)

HasItemSlot(Myself,SLOT_AMMO2)

...before trying to kite the party.

Not a bug so much as an inconsistency, I've noticed enemy gated planetars and elemental lords are worth XP (twice as much as they should be, for the elemental lords), even though enemy gated fiends are not... I'd favour them all having an XP value about 1/2 to 1/3 normal.

Got a little thing when interacting with Ihtafeer. She noticed the Flail of Ages twice, resulting in a fight with 4 or sometimes 5 rakshasha. (This was random, I did this five times and got varying results each time) I have no idea if this happens without the flail in your inventory.
