Hi,

and first of all thanks for GemRB.

I've italian DVD version of BG2 with italian voices and (I suppose) different audio files from english original game.

In fact also if I successfully installed GemRB and loaded an old save game created in a Windows pure session of gaming, I cannot hear any voices at all; music seems ok.

Apart from that, with GemRB 0.6.4 I can see a lot of error messages like:

Tried INTRO15F.mve INTRO15F.mve [ERROR]

[ResourceManager]: Searching for featreq.2da...[ERROR]

[ResourceManager]: Searching for vcremap.2da...[ERROR]

[ResourceManager]: Searching for skillsta.2da...[ERROR]

and so many others.

My question is: are they known bugs or may it depends on italian version which could have some custom filenames specifical for the Country?

Thank you and please do not hesitate to ask me anything for helping you in solve the issues.

P.S.: I installed the game from within Wine and of course in the gemrb.cfg file I put case sensitive filesystem.

featreq/skillsta are needed only in iwd2, but it may be displayed in bg2 startup (that's harmless).

vcremap is for remapping verbal constants (currently supplied only for HoW/IWD)

which voices specifically are you missing? Any interesting console output when they should appear?

Thank you for the answer. I suppose and (hope of course) that also the '[CHUImporter]: Cannot Load BackGround, skipping' written in yellow ink it's expected.

Thanks for the console output suggestion. Here follows my report:

- main character is a mage, when I click on him in the console appears the following message:

[ResourceManager]: Searching for priesth... Tried priesth.acm priesth.wav priesth.ogg priesth.wav [ERROR];

- by clicking on my imp:

[ResourceManager]: Searching for mwfm.2da...[chitin.key]

[2DAImporter]: Bad signature!

[Actor]: Getting sound 2da mwfm entry: Selection

[ResourceManager]: Searching for pseudo01... Tried pseudo01.acm pseudo01.wav pseudo01.ogg pseudo01.wav [ERROR];

- by clicking on the portrait of the character instead of the character itself I cannot hear any voice at all and no console message is shown.

Thank you for your support and for GemRB.

Regards.

Thanks for your answer.

1. ok, it was clear but the reason (localization)? Maybe can we compile a list of all voices for all countries because in Windows the game can speak loudly :laugh:

2. Can I help in finding the reason for why the sounds are missing?

3. ok, thx.

Well, first you should locate one or more of the missing files. This could be a bit difficult, because they may be packed in a bif file.

dltcep can help you find the file (but using dltcep is difficult). You can run dltcep through wine.

Actually, it is pseud01. Not pseudo01.

My mwfm.2da contains them correctly. There is no way this would work in Windows either :laugh: That 2da is clearly wrong.

Install fixpack, according to fixpack docs this is fixed by them.
