Compatibility issue

Recommended Posts

Hi, i recently installed Baldurs Gate II with Throne of Bhaal and a fair amount of mods. The first time I just installed them in recommended order and as far as possible according to the descriptions. But when I started the game it immediately crashed. So the second time I checked every time I had installed a new mod to see whether it was still working, and as you might have guessed after SCSII it again immediately started to crash at start up.

These are the mods I had installed up until that point and the order in which they where installed:

BGII - SoA

BGII - ToB

ToB patch 26498

Ascension v1.4.21

BGII fix pack v9

Assassinations v8

Eilistraee's Song v2.2

UnfinishedBusiness v19

Fishing for Trouble v1

fadingpromises v6

Tales of the Deep Gardens v9.1

Tower of Deception v3.2.1

Innershade v5.0

The Jerry Zinger Show v4

Xan v9

ArienaV2.2

KidoV7.0

BGII tweaks v9

This is the crash report:

If anyone know of any compatibility issues between any these mods and SCSII I would be most grateful.

I've just realised that the readme for SCSII actually recommend that you to install BGII tweaks after SCSII, I had read it as if it was the other way around. I tried doing it this order but after SCSII it again crashed at startup.

I have been uninstalling different mods, so far I think it must be one of these mods that conflicts somehow with SCSII:

Fishing for Trouble v1

Assassinations v8

Innershade v5.0

Fading promises v6

The Jerry Zinger Show v4

Xan v9

ArienaV2.2

KidoV7.0

I will be testing these during the next couple of days, though I'm certainly no expert, so any insight would be appreciated.

After uninstalling Fishing for Trouble BGII starts normally. I guess it must have something to do with ToBEx. Which I've realised it is part of SCSII.

The readme for FfT says:

If using ToBEx, make sure that is installed first.

So maybe I can just install the Core Component from SCSII and then FtT followed by the rest of the SCSII mod.

Will try this out.

Yes this seems to work.

So it seems that the "Initialise mod (all other components require this)" part of SCSII should be installed before Fishing for Trouble. The rest of SCSII can then be installed at a expedient point.

Also it seems to me that the Colours of Infinity mods; Eilistraee's Song, Tales of the Deep Gardens and Innershade, has to be installed after FtT, otherwise the can't be added to world map. At least this is the case for me. Nothing to do with SCSII but thought I might as well mention it.
