7) Fishing for Trouble

8) Fishing for Trouble Patch

9) Fishing for Trouble Re-Install

You don't have to re-install, simply unpack, quit installer (properly) then add patch and finally install.

Quest pack has some fixes floating around SHS.

I got some of the same mods you are using, and getting same error message when trying to enter copper coronet. This is my 3rd unsuccessful playthrought with very minimal amount of mods, and it's these area related crashes are getting on my nerves, it seems like most of load order guides are outdated. I'm thinking about no mods at all for my next one, but it's kind of sad to miss out awesome mods like SCS2.

Please respond if you got somewhat stable load order - i'd love to hear it. :)

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Now the game crashes on start-up :)

Logs are empty even though logging is on. I just want to play the god damn game :p

My install order is in my earlier post. Weidu.log is:

The problem is DEFINETELY with SCSII. As soon as it and ToBEx is installed, the game crashes.

I do not receive any error messages (except the standard Windows "this program has crashed bla-di-bla).

Wut2do? :)

EDIT: I cannot uninstall the 'Smarter Beholder' component after install. Pressing 'u' and hitting enter just re-introduces the prompt, i.e. 'Install Component Smarter beholders?'

EDIT2: Same with Smarter Mind Flayers.

EDIT3: Improved Bodhi too.

The problem is with ToB Extender. After uninstalling all components from SCSII that required it (and thus uninstalling ToB Extender) the game started without problem.

Does this have anything to with the fact that I am now using a cracked .exe? Since I couldn't get to my own game (it's far away in Copenhagen) I borrowed a friend's game and cracked the .exe.

Is there anything I CAN do?

EDIT: Seems ToBEx has issues with mods that edit baldur.exe. Such as Fishing for Trouble. I will try running SCSII without installing stuff that needs ToBEx (think it's only the stoneskin one). If that doesn't work I'm stumped.

ASSASSINATIONS and DC both modify copper coronet area, so i tried to remove them but no luck. This has to be some new version of some mod that's causing all this mess, I didn't have these problems last time I played, and that was about 6 months ago. Tomorrow i'm going to try a clean install with really minimal amount of mods; SCS2, Fix & Tweak pack, UB.

I wonder if anyone has been able to get Big World Project running (stable) lately.

I got BG2 GoG version btw.

It's confirmed. The issue was with Fishing for Trouble and ToBEx.

For now, I will leave Fishing for Trouble uninstalled and report this at SHS. I hope I can find a fix so I can install Fishing for Trouble later.

What about area related crashes, like that copper coronet? If they are gone too, could you please post your mod loading order? I never had "Fishing for Trouble" installed, so i don't think that mod has anything to do with this copper coronet crash.

BGMain.exe, not the other.

I suspect that the TobEx is not the one at falt here, but the v19 SCSII's TobEx edition...

So the fix involves installing the TobEx before the BGII Fixpack... and installing the BWP Fixpack after you have extracted but not installed all the mods you intent to install to the game folder. <-- Typical BWSetup.

I just had the original assertion error again after 2 complete re-installs... I am seriously on the verge of giving up here. I will try one, final re-install so it would be great if you could give some feedback on the following before I attempt it:

A) Jarno says I should install the BWP Fixpack... But I'm not using BWP. Should I install it anyway?

B) The install order I will be using for the FINAL try will look like this (if you don't object or have suggestions):

0) Patches

1) TobEx

(1.5) BWP Fixpack - see above)

2) BG2 Fixpack

3) 1PP

4) 1PP Avatars

5) Quest Pack

6) Assassinations

7) Dungeon Crawl

8) Sarah

9) Auren

10) Tower of Deception

11) Unfinished Business

12) Banter Pack

13) Item Revisions

14) Level 1 NPCs

15) Fishing For Trouble/Fishing For Trouble Patch

16) Dungeon-B-Gone

17) SCSII

18) BG2 Tweaks

19) Widescreen mod

Any suggestions for changes? Will this setup be the one that ultimately lets me play the game without troubles? Should I include the Widescreen mod and Fishing for Trouble or not?

If anyone is wondering why the changes, I took out Imoen since a known bug with Windows 64-bit was triggered by it. Replaced her with Sarah, which has dialogue with Auren, so I cut Mazzy for Auren.

I really, really hope this last attempt will work.
