eegeerg Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I have a dual-boot computer with IWD installed on the Windows partition. I tried to run gemrb on the installed game from linux, but not sure how to do it. For example, my dos partition is mounted /dosc, and I try something like this: $ gemrb /dosc/Program Files (x86)/Icewind Dale Complete/IDMain.exe But that gives error: "[Core]: Could not load config file [ERROR]". Any tips how to run the game on the existing install? I hope to avoid the extra disk space required to install the game on both partitions. I also looked in the getting started guide (link below), and it mentions only installing with wine, or using "./auto-installer.sh", which I couldn't find. http://www.gemrb.org/wiki/doku.php?id=getting_started Thanks!
Avenger Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 GemRB is independent from the .exe. It is a replacement to the .exe not a shell of it. Its parameter is a config file, see the supplied example, and set it up according to the comments.
eegeerg Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 The config file works great. Thank you. There seems to be a small problem with using the original path. But if I make a symbolic link it works fine. I'll post again when I find more details.
