Black screen trouble

Hello, i've just got baldurs gate and am excited to play it, though i find the 640x480 unplayable in all honesty.. i downloaded the mod put in the resolution i wanted (1280x786) And then i got the black screen, so i looked it up on google and found a fix download... with i beleive is TWM_GUI? And trouble is, i need help installing it, i've looked in the readme, but nothing. I've also found the .TP2 file, and i think thats ment to be a executable file which helps me make the game at the better resolution. I'm most likely being a idiot, but all help will be appreicated.
