Suggestion and fix for the new patch

Recommended Posts

No. the sound would play at every instance of that given string reference. So if they say the same thing every time you click on them to start the tavern store dialog, then you'd hear the sound every time. not just the first time.

However, if you have BG at your disposal you are welcome to try. You can use the little mod posted earlier as a template. Use an editor to locate the string you want to add the sound to and change the string reference number as well as the string data. then find the sound in BG and extract it and change the sound reference next to the string data and in the copy command to use the one you want.

It also does not repeat like BG does when I click the another area for multiple times, the dialogue doesn't repeat and therefore no repeating of that voice, so whooray.
IWD's area transition is hardcoded to trigger the string once and only once unless you go and do other stuff before attempting to pass thru a party required area transition again. Whereas BG's is hardcoded to trigger whenever a party member reaches the transition point and others are still out of range. May have something to do with IWD basically being multi-player mode even in single player. Not too sure.

well I like it for not repeating so hooray! I know I spelt as whooray and it's wrong, my Eng is 2nd lang so I apologize.

And I do get what you mean for the applying of barkeeper's voice using the template of the mod I currently have, but I'm not really sure where to find the string. I do have BG2 installed in my PC but I don't know which string to use and how to actually apply on the mod that you gave me :/

But I think you helped me out a lot already, so I think I should let you go. I really appreciate it.

Unless you are willing to help me again, that's not a problem for me :)

Again, thanks!

I suggest getting your feet wet in modding and trying to figure it out. ^^

Make a clean backup of your game and get yourself a copy of Near Infinity and/or DLTCEP.

Then do as the rest of us have done, stumble around in the dark till you get what you want. :D

If I didn't have other projects, I might play around with this more but at this point I'm going to have to pass.

I see Cam's post, but the bug was present in my game. I cleared most of upper dorn, got the extract then talked to Bandoth. He didn't recognize it nor give the quest.

~1PP_IWD_FIXES/1PP_IWD_FIXES.TP2~ #0 #1 // 1ppv: Fix combat animation bug (enable combat stance animations)

This component can overwrite scripts fixed by the Fixpack so that creatures can bend their knees. Something to add to the install order notes, I suppose.

Bandoth's quest is hard to get even under normal circumstances--if you start asking questions about the area, at a certain point he demands a favor (find the Extract) for him to give further information. Specifically, you need to ask 'who are you', 'I'd like to ask some questions', 'what can you tell me about the area' and keep following the line of questions.

Does the IWD fixpack patch scripts? I could install those 1pp components prior to the fixpack then.

To be fair, I don't remember the order in which I discussed things with Bandoth- this was a while ago. If you've played through the encounter and it works, chalk it up to either the 1pp iwd fixes or my selection order.
