NPC Romance MOD Opinions

Recommended Posts

There are lots of ratings forums on how enjoyable an npc romance mod is. Now is your chance to rate your mods in "age-appropriateness," dirtiness/naughtiness, or good clean fun.

How To Give These Mods a Rating

Because ratings are so subjective, we will use the following "rating guidlines" to help us determine the content of the mod. There are 5 topics, each with 5 degrees of intensity: The topics are, Sexuality, Violence, Drugs/Alcohol, Psychological, and Profanity.

The degrees of intensity are N/A, Mild, Moderate, Strong, and Intense.

We will use the Viconia romance as common groung (or generically the Vanilla Game, in the case of Drugs/Alcohol content) to help us determine what degree of intensity a mod should be rated in a given category. I will rate it and give all the applicable categories Moderate (the middle ground), to come up with a final rating of Teen/PG-13 as determined by ESRB.

Here's an example:

  • Viconia Romance___Source: Vanillla Game___Subbmitted By: mashedtaters, ESRB

Final Rating: Teen

Arbitrary Rating: PG-13

Sexuality: Moderate___Violence: Moderate___Drugs/Alcohol: N/A___Psychological: Moderate___Profanity: Moderate___

Facts: Non-graphic, non-descriptive references to sex which imply but do not describe anything. Acts of violence and murder are mentioned, a few are described in moderate, nongraphic detail. There are dark themes of abuse, racism and segregation, human sascrifice, loss, grief. There is moderate cussing, such as the word b****, and swearing in a fake language.

Comments: Viconia is considered to be the most steamy of the four romantic options in Baldur's Gate. Sexuality is not necessarily looked at as an expression of love. People who play the Viconia romance may find it difficult to resolve the dark themes mentioned above in a positive way. Overall, a very fun and challenging romance.

Here's a description of the various aspects of the example I just gave.

The Ratings

Final Rating: The final ratings are Teen, Mature, and Adult. I did not mention E for Everyone, because the game itself is rated Teen. Even though a mod by itself may contain less intense material than a Teen rating would warrant, it should not be played by anyone who is not a Teen.

If a mod scores Strong in 1 out of the 5 categories, it's Final Rating will be Mature. If it scores Strong in 3 out of the 5 categories, and/or if it scores Intense in 1 out of the 5 categories, it's Final Rating will be Adult. There will be no further rating under this heading if a mod scores 3 or more Intense categories.

If a mod is already rated in its Readme, than that rating will probably reflect here also, unless, together, we determine otherwise.

If there is an optional install of Adult or Teen content, I will write "Teen OR Adult". In the facts section, I will note that the mod has an optional rating.

Arbitrary Rating: This rating is a little more lenient. Here you can give it any rating you want. If you feel that a mod is less intense overall than the bioware game, you may state it here. You can use any of the ESRB ratings of Everyone, Teen, Mature, or Adult, or you can even use TV or Movie ratings, such as TV-14, G, PG, PG-13, R, or X, or any other type of rating you can think of such as "Cleaner Than Bioware's Viconia". This will most likely be a little bit more accurate in describing what content is within a game.

If you do not give an arbitrary rating, I will either default to the final rating or give one that I think matches your description. Please correct me if you feel to do so.

The Categories

Sexuality: This includes graphic or nongraphic references to and/or descriptions of sex, kissing, or other physical intimacy. Romantic and emotional intimacy described in the dialogue window also fall under this catergory. Seeing as all romances contain some of this, each review should have a rating in this category.

Violence: Graphic or nongraphic references to and/or decrpitions of violence, blood and gore, or murder/killing.

Drugs/Alcohol: Descriptions of people using drugs or alcohol, or the ability for the PC to engage in such activites, legal or illegal.

Psychological: Dark, disturbing, or troubling themes, such as racism, sexism, human sacrifice, addiction and recovery, severe loss, greif, guilt, or severe physical and/or emotional pain. Any miscellaneous adult material that does not fall into the other categories would fall here.

Profanity: Cussing or swearing in a real or fake language, noteworthy demeaning language, crude humor, and toilet humor.

The Degrees of Intensity, Using The Viconia Romance as a Standard:

Each item will include POSSIBLE examples. Please use your discretion, and use the examples as guidelines; they are not definitive.

If you do not give a degree of intensity, but you do describe content in a given category, I will do my best to match your description according to my discretion. Please correct me if you feel to do so.

________: If It's blank, it only means that no one has rated this mod for content in this category, or that no one has remembered whether or not there is any applicable content in this category. It does not mean that the mod has no content worthy of note.

N/A: Not applicable. Either there is no content in this category or its so insignificant that it isn't worth mentioning.

Mild: In your opinion, the content of this category is significantly less than what would be found in the Viconia romance.

Examples could possibly include:

Expressions of love and affection. Sex may not be referenced, but it may still be implied. (Sexuality)

Nongraphic references to violence, or dialogue that implies violence. (Violence)

People talk about drinking or smoking. (Drugs/Alcohol)

Someone loses a family member or someone that is close to them. (Psychological)

There is mild cussing, such as d***, or mean language.

Moderate: In your opinion, the content of this caterory is relatively equal to what would be found in the Viconia romance.

Examples could possibly include:

Non-descriptive references to sex or sexuality or suggestive dialogue. (Sexuality)

Nongraphic descriptions of violence. (Violence)

People drinking or using tabacco or fake drugs. (Drugs/Alcohol)

Racism, hatred, or sexism. (Psychological)

There is moderate cussing, such as b**** or s***, or demeaning or racist language. (Profanity)

Strong: In your opinion, the content of this category is significantly greater than what would be found in the Viconia romance.

Examples could possibly include:

Nongraphic descrpitions of sexual acts, such as kissing, caressing, or innuendos that describe sex. (Sexuality)

Descriptions of violence and blood. (Violence)

People using illegal drugs. (Drugs/Alcohol)

Abuse, severe pain, torture. (Psychological)

There is strong language, such as f***. Very crude humor. (Profanity)

Intense: In your opinion, the content of this category is extremely more detailed and/or descrpitive than what would be found in the Viconia Romance.

Examples could possibly include:

Graphic or pornagraphic descriptions of sex, private parts, or severe themes, such as rape and molestation. (Sexuality)

Graphic descriptions of violence, blood, and gore. (Violence)

Detailed descriptions of the physical consequences of using illegal drugs, alcohol, or tabacco. (Drugs/Alcohol)

Detailed or graphic descritpions of any of the dark or disturbing themes mentioned. (Psychological)

Excessive cussing, or strong abusive language. (Profanity)

Facts and Comments

Facts: Here I will either summarize or copy and paste the facts that gave the mod its rating. To help us understand the difference between facts and opinions, use this example as a guideline.

An opinion would be, "I don't like this mod because of all the sex," or "There is too much sexual humor in this mod."

A fact would be, "The author of the mod goes into graphic detail describing the sexual activities of (npcmod+character)," or "There are romantic/flirty dialogues which fade out to rest scenes, implying but not describing things of a sexual nature."

Also in this section will be noted whether or not a mod has an optional content installation, or some other way of avoiding adult content.

Comments: Here you may state anything you want about the mod, opinions, a review, or anything else. I will copy and paste or try to summarize what you think about the mod here. All opinions are welcome.

Notes:

Flirtpacks installed seperately from the original mod are not included in these ratings. The ratings are on romance mods alone because the content of the flirtpacks is already stated clearly in the readme, and will up the content of even the Vanilla games to adult.

If there are multiple intensities of a given category (such as in optional installs of adult content), the most intense will be given in the category.

If I did not satisfactorily summarize your comments or facts about a given mod, please correct me and I will change it.

If you see any typos or other mistakes, please correct me and I will change it.

Out of the Vanilla romances, I only rated the Viconia romance. Feel free to rate and express your opinions on Aerie, Jaheira, or Anomen.

This is basically a chance to express whether or not a romance mod has adult content and why it has adult content and where it draws the line.

Thanks to everyone who participates! And a special thanks to all the modders out there for somehow making this game even better than the original!

DISCLAIMER: Please do not describe in detail any adult content. A brief summary of what kind of explicit content the mod contains is fine. Thanks!

DISCLAIMER: These "ratings" are very subjective. These mods are not rated by professionals or held up to professional or governmental standards. They are merely the opinions of players/modders on what content is/isn't comparable to the Viconia Romance. If you have not played the Viconia Romance in Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, then it may be difficult for you to intrepret whether these ratings are appropriate for you or your children. Remember that many mods contain warnings in their readmes or during installation for cautions about what kind of content a romance mod contains.

NPC ROMANCE MOD LIST

If there are any mods that I missed, please let me know (and hopefully post a rating as well) and I will update the table below.

Final Rating: Mature___

Arbitrary Rating:Teen___(according to readme)

Sexuality:Strong___Violence:Moderate___Drugs/Alcohol:Mild___Psychological:N/A___Profanity:___

Facts:Branwen likes to smash things and people, and talks about breaking ribs and fingers. She drinks to victory sometimes, but there are no more banters if you get her drunk. Described hugging, kissing, cuddling. There are implied and suggested sex scenes/dialogue, such as "share my bedroll," with no further description. The flirts talk about breasts and cleavage and describe them in small detail, refering to size specifically.

Comments: The sexuality is not actually strong, per se, but because Viconia is a common ground it recieved a rating of strong. There are some parts that are equal to the Viconia Romance, and parts that are more descriptive. The parts that are more descriptive are in the flirts, which are more descriptive than Viconia's suggestiveness and hints. If you don't flirt, you won't have this.

Facts: Can optionally install a flirtpack. The flirtpack contains mildly descrpitive scenes. The Mature version contains sexually descriptive scenes. It is possible to demand that the NPC injure himself after several requests for the PC to change her mind. There are additional banters if the player gets the NPC drunk.

Comments: The Teen version is on par with what you would find in the Vanilla Game in terms of intensity (BGII).

  • Amber Romance___Source: Amber NPC___Submitted by: mashedtaters___

Final Rating: Mature___

Arbitrary Rating:___

Sexuality:Strong___Violence:Moderate___Drugs/Alcohol:Mild___Psychological:Mild___Profanity:Mild___

Facts: There is one scene in the Lovetalks where there is some passionate kissing, groping, and falling onto a bed, after which the scene ends implying that you had sex. The flirts include a some mildly described intimate situations and groping. There is also the ability to "Look down Amber's bodice", with accompanying descriptions of her breasts, and a few flirts briefly describe the PC touching Amber's breasts. Violence is on par with the Vanilla game, as in there are no detailed descriptions of blood or wounds. She has had some people shun her because of her tiefling heritage, much like Viconia. There is little to no cussing, and same with drinking and drugs.

Comments: There are innuendos that are on par with the original game.

  • Aran Whitehand___Source: Cmorgan's Mod___Submitted by: cmorgan___

Final Rating: Teen OR Adult___

Arbitrary Rating:Self-proclaimed Adult Mod___

Sexuality:Intense___Violence:Mild___Drugs/Alcohol:Moderate___Psychological:Mild___Profanity: Mild___

Facts:"Opt out of Mature content via dialogue toggle" or playing a male character instead of a female character gives this mod a final rating of Teen OR Adult. There is "Faerunian swearing" and one or two talks deal with PTSD. You can get Aran drunk which will give him additional dialogue. A female character will find it possible to initiate sexually graphic dialogue/descriptions.

Comments: It is possible to play through the whole mod in multiple styles without encountering any mature elements, except for some oaths that might break a PG-13 setting. Wine/women/song are his stock and trade. On the male PC side, I don't think anything qualifies as mature other than some of the discussion subjects - he is appropriately racist about Drow and Tieflings to fit canonical the FR setting, but he doesn't make a big deal about it unless directly asked. Rating Aran Whitehand is difficult because it comes down to the PC's gender and the dialogue choices.

  • Darian___Source: Darian NPC___Submitted by: Tempest___

Final Rating: Teen___

Arbitrary Rating:PG-13___

Sexuality:Mild___Violence:Moderate___Drugs/Alcohol:N/A___Psychological:Moderate___Profanity:N/A___

Facts: Sex is only suggested and implied. Cuddling and sleeping in the same tent. Can announce that the PC is pregnant. Darian is deeeply racist. Encounters differences between the real world and what people led him to believe, questioning and reconsidering his relationship with the PC. Briefly discusses a past scene of violence at one point, and talks about the aftermath of the sacking of a city. There is no alcohol, drugs, or questionable language in this mod.

Comments: Read easily as relatively chaste. Some people consider this more mature because he is very racist and the romance covers deep relationship problems and other troubling elements. But not more so than the Viconia romance.

  • Fade Romance___Source: Fade NPC___Submitted by: mashedtaters___

Final Rating: Adult___

Arbitrary Rating: Adult___

Sexuality:Intense___Violence:Strong___Drugs/Alcohol:Strong___Psychological:Strong___Profanity:Moderate___

Facts: There is talk about fade being a sex slave, with non-graphic descriptions and references to her "duties". There is a description of her attacking a corpse in rage. A few Lovetalks discuss her demonic family, which includes siblings killing each other and the apathy of their parents. There are descriptions of Fade and a friend being in severe pain after being tortured, some of which are graphic. Whereas Viconia says she committed violent acts and what those acts were, the Fade mod describes violent acts being committed in greater detail, describing blood, sores, and wounds. There is a scene where she gets drunk, and the following morning has a bad hangover and vomits. Throughout the romance there are innuendos that are descriptive, significantly more so than the Viconia Romance, and scenes of detailed groping and rolling around, including detailed descriptions of passionate kissing, caressing, and being naked. The flirts include a graphic response that is reminiscent of foreplay, and asking Fade to "make love". There is swearing and cussing on par with the vanilla game.

Comments: Fade is a half-succubus who tends to tackle/pounce on the PC a lot, reminding me of a cat. There was a scene in the Underdark that I found somewhat disturbing where the PC can try to goad Fade into embracing her more demonic side. She then whips out a knife and "almost" does something (??) to the PC, leaving the rest to your imagination. The flirts include a rather childish conversation that confuses chicken pieces with favorite female body parts. Now that I think of it, most of the innuendos in this mod were childish and reminded me of high school. Although I did not find any single sex-scene pornographic or extremely detailed, I rated this mod Intense in Sexuality because of the high frequency of sexual references and descriptions.

Facts: Descriptive sexual scenes, which become more descriptive if pursued.

Comments: Might read scenes as depicted on prime time TV. Offers a borderline naughty, flirty affair early on. If you are seeing smut, it's because the PC specifically asked him to do something smutty. Gavin has a relaxed attitude about victemless human vices. He enjoys alcohol and physical intimacy, but neither incite him to violence.

  • Gavin w/ Imoen___Source: Gavin for BGII___Submitted by: berelinde___

Arbitrary Rating:PG-13___

Sexuality:Moderate___Violence:N/A___Drugs/Alcohol:Moderate___Psychological:___Profanity:___

Facts: Can engage in a one night stand, suggestive innuendo in dialogue.

Comments: Some banters sound dirtier than they really are. Gavin has a relaxed attitude about victemless human vices. He enjoys alcohol and physical intimacy, but neither incite him to violence.

Sexuality:Moderate___Violence:___Drugs/Alcohol:___Psychological:Moderate___Profanity:___

Facts:Loss, grief, recovery. PC has the option of indulging in suggestive flirts, at her discretion as an optional way to solve a quest without resorting to violence (there are other nonviolent ways to solve the quest). There is one mildly suggestive scene where the "bedroom door closes," so to speak. Flirts are all clearly labled and character initiated.

Comments: Some people consider this mod more mature because it delves into hard issues. Flirts aside, it is on par with the rest of bioware content.

Facts: You can take up the role of "peeping tom" as you read descriptions of you watching Nalia undress without her knowledge. In this scene, there is a description of her breasts. In the flirts you can also bathe with Nalia, which include descriptions of passion while you are both naked in the water. Aside from this, there are one or two innuendos on par with Bioware. I did not find any items of violence, drugs/alcohol, profanity, or psychological content that was beyond the vanilla game.

Comments: Without the flirts or the peeping tom scene, this mod would have rating of Moderate in Sexuality.

Sexuality:Strong___Violence:Mild___Drugs/Alcohol:N/A___Psychological:Mild___Profanity:___

Facts: A fair number of groping scenes. In the flirts, there is some mildly descriptive touching/groping. There is one vague reference to fellatio. Tashia struggles with overcoming an ex-boyfriend. There are no drugs or alcohol, and the violence is less descriptive than the Viconia Romance, if there's any at all. I could not find any profanity, but did not rate it for such.

Comments: There is an option to install "Baldurized" content as opposed to the original content which contains all the descriptions of what's happening in "()". If you install the "Baldurized" content, there are no descriptions in "()", which would eliminate the sexual content mentioned above and give the rating in Sexuality a Moderate instead of a Strong, thus bringing the rating down to Teen.

Descriptions of touching breasts and male genitalia, and "almost touching" female genitalia, as well as moaning and groaning. The flirts include the ability to bathe with Tyris, which describes Tyris and the PC getting undressed and being naked in private and in public, with accompanying descriptions of touching, kissing, and other sexual activity that implies the remaining not-described content after fading to rest scenes. There are many strong innuendos throughout the Lovetalks and flirts, including references to foreplay and genitalia. There is one scene where Tyris bites the PC's mouth and draws blood, a few scenes where Tyris hits the PC, and references to "pleasure & pain", indicating a sort of S&M relationship. I gave it a Strong in Violence and Psychological because of the S&M references. She also likes to drink and makes references to alcohol, usually accompanied by references to making love. There is cussing such as b**** and ba*****.

Comments: Tyris is a horny amazon. She is into sex and has no qualms making it known.

Facts: Non-graphic, non-descriptive references to sex which imply but do not describe anything. Acts of violence and murder are mentioned, a few are described in moderate, nongrapgic detail.

If there are any mods I missed, please let me know (and hopefully give me a rating as well) and I will add it to the roughly drawn table below.

Yeah, there are mods you missed :p Mostly my mods :p No, honestly I just check everything that has something to do with any romance, so I decided to check this thread out.

Missing romances: Arath (K'aeloree's mod), Yoshimo Romance, Petsy Chattertone, Yvette (CoI mod),

EDIT:

Oh, and Berelinde's Keldorn!

Rhaella just released an NPC mod featuring Adrian, a LE sorcerer. You're also missing Aeryn's Haer'Dalis Romance.

Rating mods for maturity is going to be problematic. It's very, very subjective. I would consider the themes of loss, grief, and recovery in the Keldorn Romance more "mature" than the light-hearted smut in BG2 Gavin's PC romance with all flirts enabled, but others will disagree.

You also have to keep in mind that some mods offer "parental controls" during installation or gameplay. Ajantis for BG2 and BG1 Gavin both offer a choice of installing teen content or mature content. Cmorgan's Aran Whitehand and BG2 Gavin both allow the player to opt out of mature content using a dialogue toggle.

Tsujatha excepted, most mods that might offend those with delicate sensibilities are very straightforward about cautioning players before or during installation that they may be getting more than they anticipated. Look for the warnings in the readme or in the subcomponent title during installation.

Mine isn't released just yet. He's just public now. =) Though yeah, I was going to say Haer'dalis, and you might want to add Aran Whitehand also, since he's technically available.

Also not sure what's meant by flirtpacks not counting. Do you mean only those flirtpacks that aren't included with the bulk of the mod itself, or anything that's player initiated? Haer'dalis is one of the more mature ones, but most, if not all, of that material, you need to go looking for yourself.

That's true, everyone has their own opinions on what is ok and what is not ok. But that's ok, too, because this is a post for people to give their opinions.

Thanks for the feedback, berelinde. I noted it in a "2nd disclaimer".

I mean the flirtpacks that aren't included with the mod itself. Thanks for clarifying.

ooh, I can't think of any that you missed, but I just wanted to say that I think this is a good idea!

It would be nice to be able to have a heads up of what one is getting into and the content it contains before they download the mod.

One thing that does come to mind is how IMDb has their rating system setup (Which I rely on a lot).

Which warns folk that if they wish to contribute, here's their guideline:

"We've created the ability for contributors to directly add/update/edit/delete Parents Guides for titles. Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: "Sex and Nudity", "Violence and Gore" , "Profanity", "Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking" and "Frightening/Intense Scenes"."

An example of how it's setup: The Avengers Rating

Or have it something on the lines of that. Anyway, I just thought I'd toss that out there.

Great feedback! Including the facts is a great way to help others understand your personal opinions about why a mod is/isn't appropriate for children. Thanks, Miss Jade.

Editted 1st post above.

How's that? Any feedback would be great.

Note: It could be difficult to include violence or drugs/alcohol/smoking in this post for two reasons:

1) The game is based on violence and saturated with alcohol, so if you're playing the vanilla version you know that any mods out there most likely will enhance those aspects of the game.

2) This post pertains to romance mods, so to be fair in rating mods for violence and drugs I would need to change this post to include all other npc's out there--what is prevelant in, and pertinent to, romance mods, specifically, is sexuality, sexual violence, and (in this case) "described nudity." What could also be included is profanity and frightening/intesnse scenes because romance mods tend to be more dialogue heavy than other mods.

I do not question the importance of including violence and drugs in these "ratings". I just can't think of a way to fairly include them in this post in a relevant way.

If you can think of a way to include those other categories fairly, and if you feel it is necessary, please give me the feedback. I love feedback!!

As far as I'm aware, there's not a great deal of serious alcohol or drug use in mods, but you do have NPCs like Angelo who explore it in a more mature fashion than you'd see in the vanilla game. I'd hate to consider a romance mod appropriate for children just because its explicit sexuality is limited if it does delve into stuff like substance abuse.

That is very, very true and tricky. But then again some mods (I can't name drop right off the bat) do have excessive drinking, language and/or violence added in. I do believe that there are a couple of mods that allows you to go on a drinking binge with your lover.

Because as far as I'm aware of it, I never got to go on a drinking binge with Anomen, nor go back to my tent to go get high with him. So if this content is added into the mod, then maybe it could be noted on that level [i.e "There is a scene of binge drinking" or "A scene of drug usage", or "A quest dealing with graphic sexual violence"].

To sum it up, I think if the drinking, language, drugs and violence (like the sex and sexual reference within the mods) over exceeds the original game rating, then it should be noted.

What would you consider such a rating, if you could give it one? I put "on the mature side", which is kind of vague. But I've never played the Angelo mod.

And i agree with you about the appropriateness for children.

Very good points. In that case I will post only the content in npc romance mods, seeing as those seem to be the ones that actually do go above and beyond.

1st post editted. Let me know if you think it is detailed and/or clear enough.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yea, Mashedtaters, I think that's pretty clear. I think the only thing you could add to the original post is maybe a header in big bold letters that states "How to go about giving a mod a Rating" or such, and another one right above the mod list that reads "Mod List" (Or something on that line), and the Disclaim should be in bold as well just to let folk know where the important parts are within the posts.

I think this way it'll just make it extra clear what's expected of that person when it comes time to rating a mod.

Other then that, I think it's golden!

Also, I do just wanna say again that I appreciate your effort and time you spent making this up. It's nice knowing that this rating system exist and that people can participate in it at anytime. So, thanks for just putting it out there!

Updated.

Now we just need the mod's to be rated by people who have played them. I haven't played most of these mods, so i obviously can't rate them myself.

Thanks for the feedback!

Not to be a downer, but... does it matter? All mods that have sexual or mature content clearly state that in their readmes.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Maybe it does matter, maybe not. I guess we'll see as feedback comes in, and if the table above gets filled. If it doesn't get filled, then i guess it doesn't matter enough to anyone.

But if it does matter to players/modders and parents of younger players, then the table will get filled as info is posted here.

I personally do think it matters. There are over fifty romances out there for this awesome game (a game still being modded after what, ten years now?), all with varying degrees of intensity. As I stated before, I haven't played most of them, but i have done a lot of reading through forums. I never would have thought that a "romance" would have rape and sexual violence options, but according to some forums I have sifted through, the Imoen romance does. I wouldn't have known about that if it didn't matter enough to players to post it in some forums.

This forum will hopefully become a centralized and clear inventory of reviews that will help keep players with sensitive standards from downloading a mod that could potentially ruin their playing experience. It will also, potentially, be a place where those people can go for that information without having to sift and google through tons of forums before downloading.

Some people don't care about (taking the aforementioned as an example) reading the details of rape. I am not one of those people, and I strongly do not want to download a mod like that. So do I say, because of limited and misleading information from one "offensive" mod, that I won't download any mods because I don't want to risk it? Or do I try to learn as much as I can about a mod to make an informative decision?

I believe that learning and making a decision based on information is the better choice, because modders sacrifice a lot of time and put a lot of effort into their mods and I want to enjoy their work. You can see that a mod contains adult content in many readmes, but not all. And what is "adult" content? Is it raping and killing your girlfriend? Or is it descriptive sex? Or is it something less offensive to me, but offensive to others? Everyone has differing opinions on what is adult and what isn't.

This is a chance for anyone who has sensitive standards to help others make decisions. And it will also help those who DO want the really gritty mods to make a decision on what they want to download.

So please post your ratings so that I may place them on the table above. I thank everyone for their feedback and the discussion so far! This is great!

(And no offense to anyone who enjoys the Imoen mod, specifically, and certainly none to the modder. It just doesn't seem like my cup of tea from the information that I've found on it.)

What about Neh'Taniel? Is his romance included in the current release?

(And no offense to anyone who enjoys the Imoen mod, specifically, and certainly none to the modder. It just doesn't seem like my cup of tea from the information that I've found on it.)

Depends on what you've read about it. I read things like "too much sex" and "ewww half-sister incest".

I played through the whole SoA part of the mod, and found the sexual material to be not nearly as present as some claim it is.

My 2 gp: Play through a mod, and form your own opinion. Reviews and ratings are nice, but they're all subjective. Everyone's different, everyone's experience is different.
