Interesting. I just had a similar experience :)

 

Sadly, when I removed nullsound, i still got no sound, damn...

Looks like some misconfiguration in my openal setup (just upgraded Ubuntu).

 

Original poster, add DelayPlugin=NullSound.so in your GemRB.cfg

Also, if you prefer Openal, add one for SDL sound.

Or you can just completely delete the unwanted plugins.

 

Actually, you might not even installed the sound plugins? I see only nullsound on your list.

I already wrote how to ignore nullsound. You can also use SkipPlugin=NullSound.so But if it was your only sound driver, gemrb won't work without it.

 

The openal config is in .alsoftrc in your home dir. There is a gui config tool for it named 'alsoft-conf' You might need to install that package.

I did the same, and tried everything to configure openal, but it didn't work for me.
