Summons and area transition

I wonder why there is no mod project attempting to fix the inability of summons and other controlled NPCs to transfer between areas. Perhaps someone knowledgeable can answer a few question on this subject.

 

1.What is the reason why summons aren't able to transition between areas? There is nothing i find in the scripts regarding this. Is it hardcoded and/or bound to their special gender?

2. If you let summons attack you while changing areas, they actually do transfer but are no longer controlled. What changes their allegiance? Is it possible to circumvent the change in allegiance? The only (sloppy) thing coming to my mind is to add code to every ARE file and changing the allegiance back. Then using the attack - transfer routine to let summons etc. change the AREs?
