ShadowSmuggler
This is for BG:EE. I've setup the hardlink for the dialog.tlk (There was a handy batch file somewhere that really did it), and well when I use DLTCEP, it tends ot ignore the hardlink and treat that linked file as the real dialog.tlk. It doesn't update the one in the lang/en_us folder and thus the game has invalid string references.. I have to delete the one in the lang folder, then copy the new dialog.tlk over and then it'll work fine in game.. I've taken to moving the real dialog.tlk into the 0766 folder (or whatever it is) and making the lang/en_us/dialog.tlk a hard link.. it sucks when the game updates though.. then I have to go through and do this all over again.. So is it a program read issue.. or am I messing up somewhere? Link to comment
lynx
Sounds like it recreates the file, breaking the link. Link to comment
ShadowSmuggler
ok, so is there anything I can do? or is this a problem with the editor? Link to comment
lynx
Wait for Avenger to verify. I don't even understand why you always need a copy of the tlk. Link to comment
Avenger
Why do you make a hardlink? Just use a relatively new dltcep and configure the language. Link to comment
ShadowSmuggler
because I didn't know that 7.5c was configured for BG:EE yet. I didn't see a setting listing for it so I was using the TOB settings. Plus using it without the dialog.tlk near the key file gives me an error popup. plus the dialog.tlk needs to be there for shadowkeeper to work as well. Thus the hardlink. Link to comment
ShadowSmuggler
Ahh I found it under the weidu options.. something I would never think to look at. Thanks all, it was my stupidity. Link to comment
