darkmobson Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Hi everyone! I played BG many years with easytutu and now i wish to unite 2 games in one with most used mods. After my researches in the forums, I decided that BWP is the answer I need. I downloaded a big PDF file describing how to install BWP but I feel lost after reading some pages. What I want to do: 1- Merge BG1+BG2 and the expansions. Have a complete uninterrupted Baldur's Gate experience. 2- Play BG1 with BG2 mechanics (like easytutu) 3- Install some well known mods like unfinished business, npc project, widescreen mod and maybe some additional content mods and fixes If all of these possible with BWP, I need your kind help. I have some questions first: 1- Is it totally OK to use GOG.com versions of the BG1 and BG2? Or CD/DVD version will be more stable? 2- Is there an automated installation of BWP that asks which mods I want to install and do the job by itself? (I've seen something like BWS but not sure what it does or how it is used) 3- Finally can you briefly describe me the easiest and the most-suitable-for-newbies way to install BWP or point me to the right forum topic? Thank you for your time and effort.
ericp07 Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Shouldn't this be posted on the SHS forums instead of here? Answers to your questions, as much as I'm familiar: #1 - CD/DVD versions are your best bet. #2 - BWS installs everything; I don't know if you can choose not to install any mods. Check the forum at SHS to be sure. #3 - This is probably the best place to start. Note that you can't run BWS on a Mac, but I'm guessing you're on a PC (I'm apparently one of about five people in the world who play and mod on a Mac *LOL*). Good luck!
Jarno Mikkola Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 1. 2. 3. 1. Yes... they all are... you just have to have a full custom install of both games and patched to the latest official patch.2. Well run the BWS and read all the test on it... you'll see. 3. Remember to push this red highlighted button: #2 - BWS installs everything; I don't know if you can choose not to install any mods. Check the forum at SHS to be sure. The button I just indicated let's one to customize everything... to the extent that you can install just the single mod* you wish(well plus the fixes etc ) that guarantee that the compilation works. *or how ever many you wish.
ericp07 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 It would be so very wonderful if someone would write a Mac version of the setup, but apparently no one is sufficiently motivated to attempt it.
