multiple strongholds for bg2ee not working

When I do the Planar Prison I get no deed from Raelis Shai and I can't even remember what Garren said in Windspear :(, even tried reinstalling the component (using #1). and I haven't had any installation problems.

 

I simply can't see the problem so I've added my weidu log (not sure how helpfull it will be).

update: The paladin stronghold worked fine, I am thinking there is a problem in the Raelis Shai dlg that does not offer you the playhouse. I have the mage and fighter ones too, but I'm also playing a F/M...still, took the fighter first and then mage one.

As a fighter I had a bit of trouble with getting the druid stronghold. When dueling make sure you pick up the quarterstaff from the ground, after that it worked for me. It did not work if I just beat her up with my fists.

 

Also the ranger stronghold appears to be glitched. When returning to Minister Lloyd to tell him the Shade Lord is dead he'll offer the cabin up. But the dialogue options for the player appears to be from the Playhouse stronghold quest, it's about Melkrath and gems.

 

-If you pick options 1 or 2 Llyod will respond with "she grants rescue Haer-Dalis quest", the Umar Hills quest will be completed and you'll be rewarded but you will NOT be given the ranger cabin. You will receive the armor and XP and given the option to take the gold or rep.

 

-However if you pick option 3 you will receive the cabin (and the cabin quest line opens) but you don't receive any xp (you do receive the armor). Also if you THEN tell Lloyd about the protection offer the Umar Hill quest will restart - instructing you to go investigate the cabin to the west. You can get around this by removing Mazzy from your party and telling Lloyd about the protection offer BEFORE you tell him the Shade Lord is dead.

I've had both the problems mentioned in this thread, i.e. when I finished the Umar Hills quest I was presented with dialogue from the Haer'Dalis quest and when busting the troupe from the prison I did not get the Playhouse Deed.

 

The first one can be circumvented, as patbateman says, by selecting option three when speaking to the mayor. In my case that was an empty line so I simply clicked the empty space between option 2 and option 4.

 

I think I have found a fix for the second issue, but you should know that this is the first time I even look at any Infinity Engine mod. To debug it I changed my class in Shadow Keeper (EE Keeper actually) to bard and ran the last conversation in the planar prison.. that worked and showed me where the dialogue where Raelis gives you the deed is supposed to be, which is after Haer'Dalis last words before Raelis says goodbye.. so, the issue as far as I can tell, is that Haer'Dalis rejoins the party before that particular piece of dialogue, where "he" most likely checks your class (you'll notice he gets XP for the planar prison quest just as he says those lines, and I'm guessing you wouldn't see him get XP unless he was in the party(?)).

 

So the fis.. in stronghold2.d there's the following line which returns true for all player class checks for Haer'Dalis:

 

REPLACE_TRIGGER_TEXT ~haerda~ ~Class(Player1,BARD\(_[A-Z]+\)?)~ ~True()~

 

Below this line I added:

 

REPLACE_TRIGGER_TEXT ~haerdap~ ~Class(Player1,BARD\(_[A-Z]+\)?)~ ~True()~

 

I based heardap on a forum post talking about the wrong Nalia being referenced somewhere - NALIA - when it was supposed to be NALIAP. Reinstalling the strongholds module with this change and playing the last conversation with Raelis again (as a Fighter/Mage/Thief) I got the deed and the following conversations seemed to trigger properly.

 

As I've said, up until a couple of hours ago I had zero experience working with Infinity Engine mods of any kind so if someone who knows more about this could say whether this fix seems reasonable that would be great..

Your fix sounds reasonable, except the class checks for the stronghold are in the haerda.dlg file, and there aren't any in haerdap.dlg (in regular BG2), so adding that line shouldn't have affected anything. I don't have BGII:EE to investigate if it's different, but it shouldn't be.

Ok.. well, as I said it worked for me and I tested quite a few things before getting it to work and all other tests failed in the exact same way. I also tried reverting the change and going back to unchanged tweak pack (to make sure it wasn't that specific time installing the tweak that magically worked regardless of my change) but that gave me the missing dialogue issue again.. making the change again and running the setup removed the issue once more. I'm playing EE in case I didn't say that.
