Let's talk SWtOR!

Romance does not necessarily result in children. If the whole theological construct is a concern, there are other options. Makes for a dialogue too. :)

Oh yes - makes for an interesting conversation, and wouldn't be a deal-breaker if the character ever gets written. Just surprised me when it came up. That and pondering what the surface world would look like to someone who'd lived underground and used Darkvision as her primary sense.

Exploring world views can be fun.

(I shall stop hijacking this thread now. :))

Hey, I made the thread, and I declare thou can speakest of all the BG modding and romance modding thou wishes!

(More sincerely, I talk about BG1 modding and Oblivion and Guild Wars and whatever all the time, so no worries. Besides, looks like there's a momental break in the SWTOR discussion.)

Elf/human is a sort of awkward area. If I made Ayberk true to character, he probably wouldn't romance a half-elf (just humans and half-orcs (because in Calimshan, orcish blood is just 'eh, whatevahs' while Elf blood is GASP BETRAYAL ELVES SUCK AGGHHH DRAMA), but I'm afraid that would limit his romance too much, so I allow half-elf. If the character he's romancing is (female) and half-elf, though, he still sort of slips in to the 'let's adopt' thing he'll do with a male character romancing him (in BG2) so he can get his heir: he really doesn't want to be the father of a half-elf kid (yeah, there's the chance his kids could pick up GENASI!!! and be that, but it's unlikely). Half-elves in Calimshan generally do not leave happy lives: it's actually part concern, although Ayberk tends to deny any warm fluffy feeling as stubbornly as possible.

(and part, ZOMG, how will I get power if I have a half-elf child gasp?)

Still playing around with IWD thoughts. A lot of people say their strategy for IWD is 'THROW TANKY CHARACTERS AT IT', which is why I'm leaning towards three 'fighters' (LE monk, NE blackguard, CE barbarian (though that might have to change as I play with her diety) and then a NE cleric, LE assassin, CE mage. (And maybe a seventh, NE bard? (Has to be male, as I'm afraid I'm make a female too much like S from IWD2, who I loved (and hated to love, or loved to hate... same thing, sometimes.) (Because everyone MUST BE EVIL. (Too bad 2E doesn't allow evil rangers/druids... I could do a lot with that. :() Personally, I tend to be like 'FIVE MAGES. And then fighter/cleric. EVERYBODY DIEEEEEE.', but I love casters.

Of course, there are hints there will be new IWD special kits, so... maybe I'll want to make on of them, and somehow, the cast keeps expanding...

MORROWIND! I think that's going to be my first game featured on my blog. I'm going back and forth though: do I add the necessities of Morrowind mod or not? Problem with that mod is that it's one of the few you can't install: once it's in your game, IT IS THERE. It adds a need to sleep, drink, eat to the game, and is clever about it, but... if it gets annoying for me (and my friend), I can't say 'NO SCREW YOU' and delete it. So... I debate! Repeatedly!

(Also: a dwarf romancable would be awesome. I keep wanting to make a halfling druid romancable (they're allowed in AD&D, dang it, there's even a halfling druid deity!), but... I keep going back and forth. If I made a one week NPC type mod, it would probably be her though.)

Thank you kindly, Lady Twani.

I look forward to meeting Ayberk - he looks like a complicated character...

I had great success with a Rogue-Archer team when I played it - the Rogue stealthed in, observed all the mooks and picked a vulnerable one, and the Archer eased in to maximum bow range to shoot it and then fade back. They'd generally only spook the mook that was about to die as it raced desperately about trying to find this Mysterious Being Raining Death, and when more caught on, the Rogue could observe everything while remaining invisible and guide everyone to safety. Rinse and repeat.

Of course, this did mean that most of the party was twiddling their thumbs waiting for the next boss fight. Poor babies. At least they got party XP.

Ain the Dwarf is still very much in the scratch-notes and wondering stage. Though I did just find a beautiful way to put her through the ringer in Throne of Bhaal... (Because that's what you should totally do with characters you like.)

(I'm exploring the high stakes world of sock darning this evening. Joy.)

Big meh to the light side solution of Sith Inqusitor on Alderaan. Making the sith basically a couple advisor was a bad idea. And even worse is the execution. I still do not get why that Rist (or which house was it) lady would listen to you after you slaughter her palace guard. And then the jedi, who gives you keys to his family treasury... I got a headache really. I should have play for the DS. :-P

Anyway I have problems just with my notebook charger - I hope. The charging does not work while playing swtor (I guess i takes a lot of energy) and the game can drain full battery in an hour. Strange thing really. I have ordered a new charger. I hope, that it will help.

It sounds like a problem with wattage - if so then a new charger (of the same wattage) won't help sadly. For my old HP laptop I had a small 45W charger (easy to transport) a normal 75W and a giant 90W brick. The smallest charger could not keep up with anything more taxing than Excel. On my current laptop - with SLI GPU:s - I have a 170W charger...

EDIT: The problem being that SWTOR is very CPU and GPU intensive, and your current charger can't keep up.

Okay, good health to Jab's charger!

Twani, Salomeya was really Safana to start with so :) But, 'tis the North, so a muscular Skald would be my pick for the setting. Obviously, all sorts of down on their luck petty crook folks would go there as well. Bards are limitless, really :)

And, guess what? Back to SWTOR! Unlike Jab, my Alderaan was FABULOUS! I am happy owner of L32 Trooper with Chapter 1 achievement! I also got pugged into KYD twice, got kicked first time when my server disconnected (first time in like a week.. duh, impatient teens) but I was immediately placed in the other KYD, which went smoothly. I did die on the final boss (it's the healer's fault, right? right?!) but that was the only death.

Funnily enough, a Trooper is rarely praised for the story, but I thought so far it was compelling and had a great moral choices selections. The whole Thul story was great, and saving the damsels was hilarious. I expected the women to stage a break out, and was all at the ready with the rifle drawn... nope. And the letter was sweet (I wish I was able to flirt with the girl though, she was totally into my character! I guess male only gets to flirt with the young admirers if they are also under his command) 'tis Okay though that neither happened. I am surprised by how much I enjoy playing my Vanguard. The story is also not without humor completely, though not as smart aleck as the BH. I also really like how my Trooper looks fits with his story, that kind of clean shaven, slick-haired, buttoned-up, handsome look. I really am playing a Pub version of Quinn. From what I have heard though I don't get to advance too high in ranks, so I assume Garza stays, unlike so many of the bosses we topple in other stories. Too bad. The woman is short-sighted, and I would not be surprised if she were bought by the Imps.

Anyway, still need to solo Mando Raiders, swing by Alderaan to finish off Ulgo, collect the datacrons. Then do Aric's quest and then... well, I have to decide if I want to keep Aric as my wingman or Elara. I am so used to Elara now, but I have a feeling Aric is prob better. I might end up as the only Trooper in the verse who uses Yunn, seeing I'd like to have a melee DPS rather than the ranged one.

This is my first char I am actually actively building and playing with gusto. I love the Shield Specialist so far, and mostly feel like I am on top of the world. Now, I have not tried mid-level PvP yet, so that feeling might change for a while, as it will be level 10 all over again, but so far, tanking >> DPSing! So much so, I am wondering if I should make my Guardian a tank, not DPS. Seeing that Becchino is a DPS, and Dusk fell is a DPS...

I absolutely totally completely adore leveling char through class story + select planetary quest + PvP. I am trying to do all the Flashpoints on the level but I dunno, I still find the FPs nerve-wrecking. But overall, holy cow, feels I was just crisscrossing Ord Mantell, and now... Chapter 2, here we come!

Oh, lords in heaven. I don't think I can take this:

http://www.swtor.com/info/news/blog/20141006

The rest of it is not all bad. As long as I can convince Eric to play Ilum-Directive X and Makeb for 2-3 weeks on our 55's, I can sub ~ 2-3 weeks before the Dec 1 deadline, so I can run the stupid IA through the class story only, to see the class story and be done with the cursed woman. I can buy the companions affections later to unlock them (or run them real fast through planetary missions overlevelled).

Also, I bet, the green and blue gear in L30-45 category will go if priced in the 10-15 thou per piece category, so I can hopefully level Armsmech and Synthweaver at no cost into 400's.

Fingers crossed the new planets are playable by someone who just re-built the character from scratch, lol, and in 156 gear! 'Cause I can't wait to kill Rewhine once and for all!!!!

Well, I dont know, the new system might work... They a right that everyone has the same set of skill.

Thanks for the support, new charger should come tomorrow. ;-)

Yeah the trooper story is fun. Its not amazing, but it wasnt annoying at all. You get the "army" feel along with logical progress from sergeant to major (thats max - which makes sense, because you will have a hard time to catch a colonel on the front lines). And you get a guy (or girl) who is sort of a "street smart". It was sometimes fun talking to scientist, who wanted something. And the soldier was like: "Ok, I dont understand but just describe color of what you want." Btw Garza is fine. You cant dethrone her (although she deserves it because of what she did to the previous Havoc squad- its really all her fault), but you can challenge her orders all the time.

Btw the Sith Assassin was fine in the end on Alderaan. One way or another you have to kill the jedi. You know when I saw the quest title "servant of love" I really wanted to turn dark side immediately. :)

Yeah, we'll adapt to the new way of building chars. One good thing I like that their intention is to give you access to your role early. So, you are not going: "Yeah, I am a healer, but all I have are three channeled healz... so... don't count on me!" till like Level 25. :)

And OMG, Bio said they are considering a solo version of FA! Now, that would be super!

I am glad you like it! I think the gear shortages would preclude me from doing it on too many characters, but I am certainly looking forward to a whirlwind dispatch of the IA story-line! If I was not tied with my husband's toon, I would probably do it sooner, and play SW that way as well, from 44 to 55.

Heh, I am starting to feel that selecting one main is probably a wise thing, since I was messing around Alderaan this morning with next to no progress trying to get to the cron... any cron. And not getting there. Stupid, stupid Juran Mountains! Had to tell myself to sit back, relax and enjoy the journey... I had a hard time selecting my main. My Gunslinger too far behind on all the additional things like crons & Flashpoints, and so is my Mara + I don't like to PvP on that one. I dunno, if I can take my Trooper through leveling, and PvP and Flashpoints, and crons.... I might end up with Slinger going back to PvP, and the Trooper sticking to Flashpoints. Ideally, I would prefer a Healer in PvP. Maybe after 3.0 changes my Seer becomes a valid Healer with the Combat Mobility?

EDIT: Ha-ha, just found a walk-through specific to republic side, with a route on the map highlighted in yellow (for the topographic cretins like me) with a fully explored map! Feel a bit more confident that I am gonna get it now! I really gotta get a checklist of all the crones for each character because some has to be left 'for laters' :)

EDIT 2: Just saw that someone had a genius solution to the equipment - the continuously rolled TH missions on the toon! Sold leftovers, equipped the good drops. PERFECT! I want to see how long it takes me to get the IA through come Nov 1st. If it goes well, I might do a BH as well, to see Torian's romance fast, instead of waiting till we get to it with Eric. I don't have to even finish the class story there, just to the end of romance. I can then delete that character and have a free slot for a "real character" Knight! Ingenious, right?

just fyi, and only seni related, but if it interests anyone, I play star wars galaxies pre combat upgrade on a server called tarkin. Its a rare gem of a server, private and very friendly. small but populated and growing.

you can look into it at www.tarkin.org

if you get nostalgic over star wars mmos.

Lots of custom content.

My Sith Assassin is finally on Hoth (lvl 41 now). - Image of the character- http://luhavel.sweb.cz/yellow.jpg I like this planet, though Taris was also very nice. I had to get through some parts of a bad class storyline. I still dont understand the logic of some of the characters in Alderaan and why Ashara joined my guy completely evades me (my master is dead, which is not my fault at all, so I HAVE TO JOIN YOU! ...and call you master for the rest of the game). The gameplay is just great though. The Sith Assassin tank is a huge fun every step of the way. He has problems in flashpoint (though I try to have up-to-date gear - 12,5 K hitpoints on lvl 40) in boss fights. You can feel every hit there even when you use your defensive abilities properly. Another smart heal complained, that I use only light armor. But... you are really fast, its not a problem to save a situation (heal) if he/she runs into problems. And the stealth along with one minute CC... And a proper aoe attack (not even that expensive), which hits everything around you. Its not really a problem to run to your endangered DPS/Heal and get your aggro in few seconds.

Btw Ashara is a smug about companion gifts. Small affection gain even with the most suitable for her. I dont really understand that. Altogether the sith inquisitor could really use a better set of companions. But... I will finally get my heal on Hoth.

Btw the ex-chief of my main Empire guild stole all guild money (10 mil.?) and disappeared. Funny. :)

P. S. I also found an old image from the BG2 (Government District) - http://luhavel.sweb.cz/Baldr006.jpg Hehe, I just tried it and - Voilá! :)
