This small mod for Baldur's Gate II restores many sound effects used in the original Baldur's Gate for the sheer enjoyment of a bit more complete "that BG1 experience" some players seem to be nostalgic about.

 

Note: A number of the restored sound files have been cleaned of audible compression artifacts or any degree of clipping. The original spell casting voices were especially affected and often unpleasant to listen to.

I believe this early version isn't something as comprehensive as you might expect, though . As to your request, would a small showcase of a few examples on SoundCloud suffice for now?

Ooh - interesting! BG1 spells sound a lot more primal, I think. Um, I probably wouldn't install the extended chunking sound, though. The way the... bits land a bit afterwards is... yeah.

Funny how this sound effect actually fits the BG2 chunking animation almost frame-by-frame. But, yeah, I totally agree that you might get sick of it after a while (unless... *devil*).

Ah, listening to that brings back good BG1 memories. Will be sure to give this a go when I get around to another playthrough.
