The Fred
IWD2 is 3rd Ed, right? Is it likely to use 3rd Ed's XP system? (I think Neverwinter Nights, for example, uses its own calculations - though of course this isn't an IE game). In 3.0/3.5, CRs aren't linear. Instead, CR x+2 is twice as powerful (and typically gets half as much XP) as a CR x. Thus, your mean level would not be the sum of your levels over the number of party members, it would be some kind of logarithmic mean. I'm not sure if this fits with your findings, though, and I don't actually have a copy of IWD2 so I can't look at the table. Link to comment
lynx
the rules are not clear, but the value bit is ingrained in the provided table. I made a testing script, but it only complicated things a bit, since it contradicted some earlier findings. Will have to do a thorough sweep at some point. Link to comment
