Bug reports in v30

Recommended Posts

I know. The problem is that even low-level clerics (see rethug03. level) get some really high-powered stuff. If they get FoD or not is random - I've checked him now, indeed he doesn't have FoD this time. He does have Aerial Servant (6th) and Unholy Word (7th) instead. :D His script is 2ECL3 - he should I guess get level 3 spells MAX.

Also, the priest in Slaver's boat will have same issues (just see their list of memorized spells). I can't vouch for others (there aren't many clerics of low-level in BG2) but these two surely aren't level 14.

Sure, there is something wrong. My Rethug03.cre also has 2ECL3 script, 6th level cleric and these spells:

Tw07YMY.jpg

and priest on Slaver's boat (SLAPRI.CRE), 10th level cleric, 2ECL5 script and these spells:

Jylldbt.jpg

So, no spells higher of 5th level. Did you change anything in ini file? It could be some SCS component that I don't use.

My weidu.log (SCS part):

Change-log on these 2 CRE files would be helpful to find which component added these high level spells.

I use "AI detects items slowly" = 0 in ini but it shouldn't matter, instant prebuff (full) and HLA's for everyone (i.e. "not really reccomended") option.

Odd - your spell selections seem to work fine. It's really not fun to have FoDs fired at you so quickly. :(

- smarter general AI

- smarter priests - priests cast some short-duration spells instantly to simulate pre-battle casting

- potions for NPCs

EDIT:

Now it seems to work fine. I've checked the files with NI, they appear normal,?

I think that's okay. What would the point of the ability be if the AI was programmed such that you could never see the benefit of it?

Yes, I know, the barbarian would personally benefit because he wouldn't get attacked... but that means you shift the backstabs away from the high-hp guy to the squishier guys. Meaning, "Immunity to Backstab" will literally change from being a benefit to a tactical weakness. A pretty drastic change to the underlying intent of the game.

I certainly don't think that (detecting the immunity and backstabbing someone else) should be default behavior.

I made a post a few pages back about the Warden summoning a fiend which attacked him, since my party was out of sight. Just now I saw a similar thing happen - a Yuan-Ti mage summoned a cacofiend (Nabassu), which attacked him. Again it was out of sight of my party.

Looking through the SCS readme, I noticed that this should not be happening (emphasis mine):

Improved Fiends

... I assume that enemy spellcasters (who, after all, have been learning high-level magic far longer than the party) summon demons with whom they have a pre-existing pact. These demons won't attack their summoner - and, crucially, will attack the party even if they are protected by Protection from Evil.

Here's my Weidu log in case someone can spot another mod that is in conflict with SCS Improved Fiends (can't see anything obvious myself).

I'm having basically the same issues as reported in this thread. SoA goes fine but at the end of SoA the game isn't transferred over to ToB. By that I mean that the save still shows up in the SoA half of the main menu rather than the ToB half. Attempting to continue it eventually leads to game breaking bugs. I have to manually import the save into ToB to proceed.

Abazigal's lair has the 4 drakes from Ascension as expected, but when Abazigal turns into a dragon Tamah does not spawn. Looking around with NearInfinity shows that Tamah's .CRE file is in the override folder but nothing references it.

During the first fight at the Throne, both of the fallen solars also spawn with 2 mariliths, a succubus, and an alu-fiend (i.e., the same enemies the fallen solar in vanilla spawns with). The extra demons have vanilla abilities even with "Ascension demons use SCS abilities and AI" installed.

In order to be able to put Spell Immunity into contingencies and spell trigger, I have to manually edit CONTINGX.2DA. Nothing in the SCS readme indicates that this is necessary.

I really enjoyed SCS overall and so running into all these bugs at the end was disappointing.

Game Version: GOG, Non-EE

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

Abazigal's lair has the 4 drakes from Ascension as expected, but when Abazigal turns into a dragon Tamah does not spawn. Looking around with NearInfinity shows that Tamah's .CRE file is in the override folder but nothing references it.

This is intended, if you installed Smarter Abazigal. Why, don't ask me.

From ascension\abazigal.tpa:

// delay Tamah

LAF get_area_script STR_VAR area=ar6005 RET script=script END
LAF swap_text STR_VAR files= ~%script%.bcs~ swaps=~CreateCreature("ABAZDG02",\[1224.1287\],0)=>NULL~ END
