small bugs in SR v4beta13

There's a bug with lastest SR which will prevent Dispelling screen from working properly (it won't do anything vs dispels, it will stop only Breach). Hotfix here.

Drop into spell_rev/lib folder. Reinstall is neccecary I'm afraid :undecided: .

Note that this bug seems to happen only on EEs.

I don’t want to be rude, but what about the debugging and the final release of this mod since the last month ? If there are some problems - and of course fixes - recently detected, I think it would be a good thing to indicate them and above all to give now to the players a precise date for the release of this remarkable and for long awaited mod (SRv4beta14). I hope personnally that the modders will be able to give a response very soon. Thank you by advance.

B14 is almost there. I cannot promise more because I barely find the time to reply here, the first half free day I manage to get I'll package it.

I don't see that as a bugs but rather as some inconsistency - in my current run I joined Dynaheir and tried to learn some spell with her. As an Invoker she should be prohibited from learning Conjuration and Enchantment/Charm spells. So far she is unable to learn Armor (Conjuration) but can learn Grease (Conjuration), Monster Summoning I (Conjuration), Obscuring Mist (Conjuration). I've checked with NearInfinity all the spell scrolls of Conjuration and Enchantment/Charm schools for their 'availability' for Invokers and the following spells seems broken:

 

- Dispel Magic (Mage version, _SCRL1E.ITM) - Abjuration (un-flagged for all specialist mages, Transmuters should be prohibited)

- Flame Arrow (_SCRL1F.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners)

- Monster Summoning III (_SCRL1L.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners)

- Dimension Jump (_SCRL1V.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners)

- Monster Summoning II (_SCRL2A.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners)

- Cloudkill (_SCRL2E.ITM) - Conjuration (erroneously flagged for Enchanters)

- Monster Summoning V (_SCRL2G.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners)

- Grease (_SCRL66.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners)

- Mage Armor (_SCRL67.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners but for whatever reason Dynaheir still unable to learn it)

- Obscuring Mist (_SCRL71.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners)

- Monster Summoning I (_SCRL72.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners)

- Chromatic Orb (_SCRL83.ITM) - Alteration (flagged for Enchanters, should be Abjurers)

- Battering Ram (_SCRL91.ITM) - Evocation (flagged for Abjurers, should be Enchanters)

- Melf's Acid Arrow (_SCRL95.ITM) - Conjuration (Only flagged for Diviners)

- Stinking Cloud (_SCRL97.ITM) - Conjuration (flagged for Enchanters, should be Diviners & Invokers but Dynaheir already know it)

- Web (_SCRL99.ITM) - Conjuration (flagged for Enchanters, should be Diviners & Invokers)

Erhm, you might not have read the re-classification of the spells ... that is intended behavior.

See in vanilla BG2, only Invokers are banned from using two schools, while others it's just one. Which is idiotic to say the least. Why would a conjurer ever get to cast fireballs if they can't do the reverse, in this game, while it was not possible in the BG1. While the Enchanter can't cast Invocation spells, their opposite can't cast Enchantment or Conjuration spells ... I think I read that SR tries to remove the extra restriction from the Invokers by allowing them to gain Conjuration spells... as that makes all the specialist have one and specific restriction:

- Abjurer: Cannot scribe/cast Alteration spells

- Conjurer: Cannot scribe/cast Divination spells

- Diviner: Cannot scribe/cast Conjuration spells

- Enchanter: Cannot scribe/cast Invocation spells

- Illusionist: Cannot scribe/cast Necromancy spells

- Invoker: Cannot scribe/cast Enchantment spells(, aka not with the vanilla's additional Conjuration restriction)

- Necromancer: Cannot scribe/cast Illusion spells

- Transmuter: Cannot scribe/cast Abjuration spells

But then that doesn't explain why Dynaheir can't learn Mage Armor (Conjuration), Cloudkill (Conjuration) prohibited for Enchanters, Chromatic Orb (now, with SR, an Alteration spell) also not available for Enchanters, Battering Ram (Evocation) - for Abjurers, Stinking Cloud and Web (both now Conjuration instead of Evocation) still a no go for Enchanters...

- 4th level Protection from Elemental energy doesn't work since 2da file doesn't get copied over.

- Likewise, it's fairly case-sensitive so lines must be aligned.

- Icon used is wrong, and Pro Fire (on select menu) uses Pro Cold icon.

- ? If you are talking about the 2da it looks fine with TextPad

First of all, this mod is awesome really, loving it! Adds a much needed fresh take to BG2

 

We encountered pretty much only 1 bug while playing so far -- For the record, I downloaded and installed the version in the current thread "SR v4 Open Beta (last update 21 september 2016)" for BG2EE about a week ago. exe file is v4beta13.exe

 

I am quoting this message because for us, Protection from Elemental Energy also does nothing, like the original poster. Either we cast it as sorcerer or mage, it does absolutely nothing so we removed it.

 

Game is BG2EE, up-to-date via steam (2.3.67.3), and installed mods are, in the following order of installation: Spell Revisions, Item Revisions, G3 tweak pack anthology (Delay High Level Abilities, Change XP Cap, Add Save Penalties for spells cast by high level casters (arcane & divine), Remove Summoning Cap, No Traps, Easy Spell Learning (And no maximum cap), ToB-Style NPCs)

 

No other mods installed (thinking about installing SCS)

 

I searched the forum and found this thread, hopefully it's the right one :)

 

Great mod, highly recommended by the way.

Wow thanks a lot for the fast answer! By the way Prismatic Mantle rocks :) Is there a way to make the effects more visual? Like the stun/petrify/whatever effects?

I encountered a lot of problems (long story) but I can give you a link in the meanwhile: let's call it b13.1

 

It's not the full new B14 because I had to roll back to the old build and slowly re-add everything. For now it contains the following upgrades over b13:

- Update to WeiDU 239

- various minor fixes

- fixed an issue with shaman spells being applied to all divine spellcasters

- fixed a compatibility issue with Dispelling Screen and EE

- Icelance's projectile animation fixed, scroll range fixed, new sound effect

- Summon Shambling Mound icon fixed

- ProElemental Energy was not working correctly (missing 2da file)

- Vitriolic Sphere added to 4th lvl spells (School: Conjuration)

- Shadow Door's "maze" effect no longer has a save penalty (it was -4)

 

Sorry for my usual messy (an understatement) release schedules. :(

My Druid won't like this! :p

Is it possible it didn't work at all with EE? I entered a fight against a Lich yesterday and it instantly cast a single Dispel Magic as soon as I entered and all my buffs got dispelled. Problem: Dispelling Screen was up. I've always had the tingling feeling it didn't actually do anything, but maybe I missed something, I could be wrong though.

That was indeed the problem with EE installs.

Since I am curious (and if I am not wasting too much of your time), could you tell me what it was if you do not mind too much summarizing the long story? :D
