Khrome
1) How can i check which modules of the mod are installed exactly? I forgot to take notes and want to replicate the installation on another PC. 2) Has Imoen always been this childish? I can't seem to remember her character being like that, though it has been a long time since i played BG1. Quote Link to comment

Open it with any text editor and you will have the list of all installed mods on component level in your game. 2) Weidu.log will tell you if you have any other Imoen-mods installed. BG1NPC Imoen has not changed for a long time, if ever. *childish* is your own interpretation, so not much to comment on. Edited September 11, 2017 by Roxanne Quote Link to comment
jastey
2. Except the PC beging able to call her "little one" and her obvious sense of "oops, shouldn't I have read Gorion's secret letter?" there is not much characterisation in original BG1. Imoen being as childish and playful as in BG1NPC is the character design of Imoen's mod author of BG1NPC. Quote Link to comment

I think my perception of Imoen was coloured because she's far more active (and mature) in BG2. Still, i wonder if i'm alone in thinking that the BG1 project writing for her is just a little bit too much. Another question pops up though: What negative effects would uninstalling the mod have on existing savegames? Quote Link to comment
jastey
In general, uninstalling a mod and playing on could lead to: In areas you already visited in your save there could be leftovers like quest characters with no dialogue or a house entry leading to a CTD because the area it should lead to is no longer in the game resources. If animations or sounds are referenced but missing the game would crash, too, same for stores you already visited. Also, if you load modded saves into a new non-modded game some mod items in your inventory could crash the game. For bg1npc specifically I think it does not introduce new animations or entrances. I am not too sure about new items. Quote Link to comment
AstroBryGuy
BG1NPC's interpretation of Imoen is different than the BG2 Imoen, but the difference is intentional. BG1 Imoen's soundset is a rather "childish", e.g, "Yer all buffle-headed," "Borrrinnngg...,", etc. The BG1 in-game biography says "[imoen] seems the eternal child...". In BG2, Imoen has just suffered severe psychological and physical trauma, which has affected her. BG2 Imoen's soundset is far more somber and serious, and her in-game biography notes "the dark confines and horrors of your current location have definitely taken their toll." That said, it is certainly a valid opinion to find the difference to be too great. Uninstalling BG1NPC mid-play-through is not recommended. If you uninstall the mod, it is recommended to start a new play-through. Quote Link to comment
Khrome
Thanks again to both of you. I think my opinion of Imoen as a character was indeed somewhat influenced by the fact she never had any meaningful dialogue in BG1 outside of Candlekeep. I haven't gotten far, but i think i'll stick with it for now. The only thing that really surprised me was the frequency of her interjections: There were 4 in the span of a few minutes in the beginning of the game. It didn't help that it was rather wishy washy about seeing Gorion's corpse, but i guess "denial" is a pretty good excuse for her current mood.
