Jarno Mikkola Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) May I ask is there a reason why BG2 Fixpack detect TobEx presence using file detection instead checking weidu.log via "REQUIRE_COMPONENT" ? It's because there's a quite few patches that are skipped when the ToBEx is present... search the .tp2 file with "// skip this song and dance if TobEx is present" As this way they can simply use ... ACTION_IF !tobex_game BEGIN ... or similar things. Aka it's a variable, used in the patch processes... not a optionalized component. Which is where the REQ's are used. Or that's my take on it.. Almateria Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Naw, it's a BG old thing. EE has people who bugfix for money. Quote
Jarno Mikkola Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 (edited) This isnt needed for EE, right?Just to confirm, no. It's not needed in BG2EE/BG1EE/SoD, only for non-EE BG2. Well, that too can be debated, but it's made for, that. and beside, he could not also release anything at all after he joined EE teamI don't know, what you are talking about. The point being that making a sentense seems to be reeaallly hard for you. Edited September 6, 2018 by Jarno Mikkola Quote
CamDawg Posted September 6, 2018 Author Posted September 6, 2018 Version 10 will allow you to install a lot of stuff you shouldn't for BG2EE, which is why "don't use it" is the general advice. If you wish to get technical, there are a handful of OBC components which can be used on BG2EE in v11: Mixed-Use Dagger Fixes Ghreyfain's Holy Symbol Fixes Corrected Summoned Demon Behavior Wizard Slayers Cause Miscast Magic on Ranged Attacks Change Free Action to Protect Against Stun Remove Thieving Start Bonuses from Bard and Ranger Skills The rest--main components, text updates, other OBCs--are either included already in BG2EE or not relevant, and are skipped automatically in the current v11 beta. I just noticed that Bard Song Fixes is also available, but shouldn't be, so one more fix for the next release. Quote
Prof Errata Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 sorry to intervene here, but well in the wake of all these remarkable changes here at G3 since these last days, will a definitive BG2Fixpack v11 be expected soon ? Quote

According to your debug file, you were using 245, not 246. The error you experienced was fixed in 246. Quote
