I got through the install fine, but when I click the BG:EE shortcut in steam my pc buzzes for a few as if its thinking of launching,...then absolutely nothing. I searched here for 'won't launch' and 'wont start' and dont come up with anything. Have I done anything wrong? My game folder is installed in my own 'games' folder not in program files etc. for the record. Otherwise I pointed to its directory during install and the install went fine without a hitch. mobias Posted April 1, 2019 Share Posted April 1, 2019 Thanks Lilaina, that ultimately worked on my pc. Author should REALLY add that into the installation part of his readme! I tried the exact same process on my wife's laptop and for some reason it would still launch to default/non SCS BG:EE... couldn't figure that out. Ended up copying my entire game folder over to her laptops, and she just used her saved game data.Noticed SCS removes some portraits for some reason, had to find a portrait mod to add them back. Wish I could figure that out. Now, off to find if there's any solution to the repeating command/banter issue i notice right away. The characters say the same thing over and over sequentially, whereas before it was pretty random. ugh. You said the game will be a bit hard for me eh? I guess i'm up for the challenge then, as I didn't really know what components I 'shouldn't' have included... Quote Link to comment
laclongquan Posted May 11, 2019 Share Posted May 11, 2019 (edited) Heya everyone~ I got a freeze game problem and I dont know how to fix it.When we challenge faldorn in the druid grove, she launched creeping doom and the game simply freeze. Not crashing, but freeze, no moving the cursor or anything. I can alt tab out and window cursor move fine, but not the game cursor. I try both Jaheira and Cernd. It's definitely the moment when Creeping Doom projectile hit my challenger that is the freeze. And it's Faldorn casting that trigger the bug. I try Jaheira casting it (elsewhere) and she does it just fine. I try lower graphic details to no avail. So is windowed mode. My game is just BG2 complete with fixpack and SCS 31. NO other mods. Help! EDIT: well, I can find a way around it for now, but that doesnt mean I know how to fix it. I cheat in the Rift Device, and use it at the correct timing to break Faldorn's casting creating a Casting Failure state thus the Creeping Doom spell not activate. SCS 31 When Foundling is installed (i was using v4.2 but new 4.3 version gives the same error) SCS installs fine up to the "Smarter General AI" component which will give exactly this "resref_QD_MCF03_KIT Effects remove", patching failed ...1.cre ...2cre etc. etc. MCF026....MCF027 etc... ect... then it will screw up the smarter mages and the entire AI portion of SCS practically which means entire SCS basically.
