Guest EdekaReweAldiLidl
I'm directly modifying files vie EEkeeper and placing them in the override folder. The files I've tinkered with are the 2DA, SPL, ITM and CRE files. As far as I can tell, ITM files are copied in the saved game so once you've encountered them in game, let's say Keldorn's armor, you can't edit them anymore and you have to create a duplicate ITM and make your changes there. I think the same goes for CRE files. And I think 2DA and SPL files are not saved in game, so changes can be made and it will directly affect your current game? Am I wrong/correct? ITM and CRE - need to restart the game or create duplicate? 2DA and SPL - changes will take effect in the current game? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
CamDawg
Area files, stores, and global NPCs (joinables) are stored in the save game. Quote Link to comment
Guest EdekaReweAldiLidl
What about PRO files? I changed the lightning bolt projectile but did not see my changes in my current game so I guess these are saved in the saved game too? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
Did you see the change in the restart then ? And your savegame can store a spell by virtue of an NPC. As in, he/she needs to relearn the learned spells. And remember you need to change all the spell levels, not just one ... cause most of the spells get cumulative upgrades and those upgrades use the same projectile, but a different Extended Header. Which is by the way where the used .pro is determined at, and level requirements etc jazz. Quote Link to comment
Guest EdekaReweAldiLidl
No, I didn't restart the game. I'm in the middle of playing a SoA to ToB run so I don't want to restart now. Thanks! I will try deleting and adding back the lightning bolt spell and see if my PRO changes take effect. I'm not sure if relearning will work with innate abililities like Talos Lightning Bolt but I'll try anyway. If that doesn't work, I'll try duplicating the PRO file. Quote Link to comment
CamDawg
In the save file, the gam file stores global NPCs, familiar info, variables, and your journal; the sav file contains stores, areas, and the world map. Other resources should get pulled from their respective files (item, spells, projectiles, etc.) Quote Link to comment
Guest EdekaReweAldiLidl
By the way, I restarted a game and my spell/projectile changes didn't take effect. So I did something wrong. Anyway, I scrapped the idea. thanks for the help. Quote Link to comment
