DavidW
Of course, there won't be any more bugs, but just on the off chance, report them here... Link to comment
Lilaina
(I'll continue from the other thread here) I don't get the invisible Babau problem anymore either, dunno what that was about. The issue with solars is still definitely there. They cast remove magic and prismatic spray on bodhi for instance, and finger of death on Melissan. I took a screenshot. It seems more likely to happen if the player character is out of sight of the solars. I also noticed that there's some remnant of a bug from the old version that Abazigal had in his humanoid form while in his lair (at the Throne he works fine). Basically, he seems to stop and think what to do instead of mercilessly chasing the player like he does in the finale. Sometimes he even pauses, turns around and wanders away for a while. This bug was a lot more serious in the previous version of ascension however, now he does attack most of the time but he is easier to kite cuz he pauses every now and then. Dragon form is fine. DavidW
Oh, got it: the solars don't literally attack, but they cast attack spells. OK, will chase. Link to comment
DavidW
OK, I can see how the solars could be targeting their allies. (I don't think I really touched those scripts, so I suspect this sometimes happened on previous versions too.) In any case, I've added some guards that should stop it (updated to the repo, but I won't do a release just yet). Link to comment
DavidW
Tougher Abazigal is more interesting. Unlike most of the Five, his 'tougher' script is rudimentary and not at all related to his Final-Five one. I could rewrite it to avoid the rather sluggish targeting he does, but I'm loath to much with the details of Ascension's AI (not least because SCS is my own interpretation of what Ascension AI should be). On reflection, I've simply given 'tougher' Abazigal his Final-Five script and powers (less a Chain Contingency and a Spell Trigger that he demonstrably saves to use in dragon form). There is an ini option to turn it off. This is again updated to the repo; I'll do a new release in the next day or so. Link to comment
Lilaina
Okay, that's all I found for Ascension alone. However, when testing it together with SCS 32, I came across a few things: 1. During the final phase, player reply to Melissan says "NO VALID REPLIES OR LINKS" 2. Babau bug happened twice, maybe SCS made it worse somehow? I dispelled their invisibility and they ran to the edge of the platform where they started shaking/dancing in place. They still threw spells but didnt come into melee. 3. Improved Bodhi doesn't have her blue shield doesn't seem to use much of her other special abilities either. Dunno if intended or not. All the other boss fights worked perfectly and seemed much better than old ascension + scs combo. WeiDU.log Link to comment
DavidW
The NO VALID REPLIES OR LINKS is SCS trying to substitute its difficulty system for Ascension's and getting it wrong. Fixed on the repo (it means minor fixes to Ascension too). I won't have a chance to release new versions till, at the earliest, this evening (Pacific time); I'll try to have a look at Babaus and Bodhi then too. (I take it you're talking about the Ascension version of Improved Bodhi?) Thanks again for careful attention. Link to comment

khelban12
Greetings. Does wheels of prophecy 8.2 fail to install on someone else ? When i have only installed ascension components 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, then WoP fails to clone balelit creatures because they don't exist. I had to install ascension component 1100 (Tougher Balthazar) and then WoP installs correctly. Edit: I did a quick browse of the old weidu ascension and it copied a folder with a bunch of creatures (including balelit*.cre) regardless of what components you installed, so the creatures would always exist. The new 2.0.X ascension only copies the creatures when Tougher Balthazar is installed. Can ascension account for this or is the correct action for WoP to change and account for the new ascension ? Thank you Link to comment
DavidW
Got it. Better solved on the WoP side, I think; will address. Link to comment
khelban12
Does anyone else get crashes on classic BG2 with tobex engine ? I started a new playthrough and in Waukeen's Promenade after the cutscene ends, i immediately got a crash. I tracked it down to the mod ruad. It uses a script that runs the wizard spells "protection from fire / cold". I removed every mod but tobex, bg2fixpack, ascension and i can still trigger the crash. I tracked it down to the DS component of ascension that adds a set scripting state (282 opcode) with BUFF_PRO_DAMAGE to some spells. If i remove this effect, everything works correctly. I tried to understand what the problem is but couldn't and IESDP doesn't have much information. In my case, the BUFF_PRO_DAMAGE stat gets the number 233 so the effect uses the number 77 (156 + 77 = 233). If i modify spwi319 and try to set other states, i get crashes with some numbers (e.g 50, 60) but it works with others (e.g 49, 65). If i give BUFF_PRO_DAMAGE the number 236 in stats.ids and modify the effect accordingly (to 80 so that 156+80 = 236) it works without crashing. It seems to work with some numbers and crash with others. It is likely that the crash happens with other spells too and i just happened to notice it with Protection from Fire (at least all the BUFF_PRO_DAMAGE spells should crash). If someone has a classic BG2 installation and wants to test it, some rough steps are the following: a) install tobex, fixpack and ascension b) start a TOB game (to avoid the lengthy Irenicus cutscene), import TOBMAGE character c) clua in scrl6h (which runs spwi319.spl) d) use it on yourself.and see if it crashes. Also, does anyone know a fix for this ? Thank you Link to comment
Valandil
I've encountered a problem while installing this new version with other usual mods. On the top of the list I wanted to install ToBEx but it seems a problem appeared with "Queried (pid = 788), see attached file. Then I began with Fixpack and then Ascension worked fine. Do you have any idea of this restriction? does that mean that any other mods should be installed after Fixpack and Ascension ? Link to comment
DavidW
That's an issue with WEIDU updating itself, not about the mod itself. But what that issue is, I'm not sure - sorry. That said, Ascension 2.0 will insist on the fixpack anyway, so you don't lose anything by installing it first. Link to comment
Valandil
All right thank you for your return. For the record by trying to install a second time it works. For instance I've unpacked another French mod which fix text and same problem. I've clicked another time and now it's ok. After several attemp I'm gonna update a new config. Anyway thank you for your job and SCS new release, these mods are absolutely compulsory to me ^^ EDIT : well seems I'm not lucky. I wanted to face Illasera directly to test her but as soon as the fight begins, the game crashes.
