Nasty bug in Ascension 2.0.6: please update (EDIT: or use this workaround)

Unfortunately 2.0.6 turns out to have a game-breaking bug in the main component, caused by a logic error on my part when writing compatibility code. I have released 2.0.7, which fixes it: if you are on 2.0.6, you definitely should update. (If you are on 2.0.4 or 2.0.5 it's not necessary to update, though there are a few other bugfixes.)

If you don't want to update (e.g. because you've got a huge mod stack and you're a long way through the game, here's a workaround: use the console to do these:

SetGlobal("dw_irenicus_block_12_id","GLOBAL",1)

SetGlobal("dw_mel_imoen1_id","GLOBAL",1)

SetGlobal("dw_mel_imoen2_id","GLOBAL",1)

SetGlobal("dw_balth_happy_id","GLOBAL",1)

before you start Ascension.

Safe to reinstall midgame, at least as far as Ascension is concerned. It might depend what mods you have after Ascension in your install order, but I'd have thought it should be okay. Maybe do it at a good break point, e.g. end of BG1.

Then most likely I am screwed as for good or ill I have Ascension early in the install order right before  Kelsey and lots (relatively speaking) of mods after: banterpack, UB, Spell Revisions, Questpack, Wheels, RR, cdtweaks, SCS, etc. Oh well.

I think you'll probably be fine. But if you don't want to risk it, there is a workaround, which I've added to the original post in this thread.
