SCS updated to 32.4 (edit: now 32.5)

Some minor issues:

  1. The description of Masterwork arrows says they do 1d6+1 damage, but according to NI they only do 1d6.
  2. The text displayed by default when in the Scripts screen seems wrong for some scripts. For example, I use the Bard Controlled script for Haer'Dalis, and when I open his Script screen there is a long text that starts "Out of combat, the character will cast..." Then I click the Bard Controlled script (which was already selected) and the right description is displayed. This also happens with other scripts, like Cleric Controlled, but not with the ease of use script.
  3. The quivers of plenty in Watcher’s Keep provide unlimited +1 arrows and bolts. For consistency, the component that removes +1 ammunition from the game should also probably modify these quivers so that they provide unlimited masterwork arrows instead. Same for the Bag of Plenty +1.
  4. The burning men in the Marching Mountains cast Keening (which seems to induce fear) on a magic sword.

  5. After resting, when the sequence of automatic casting starts, icons of items are displayed on the portraits of characters that don’t seem to make sense. It looks like this is related to the Ease of use AI, but the items don’t have any usable abilities. Example: The Metaspell Influence Amulet. This amulet doesn’t have any charge abilities.

  6. Characters with the Ease of use AI cast healing spells on party members that cannot benefit from them because they have a spell protection, like Globe of Invulnerability.

While I am here, I would  vote to make protection from normal missile to protect against all kind of magical missile (including magical ranged axes/hammer) instead of nerfing or limiting acess to magical missiles. ( witch is frustrating)

You don't get a vote: SCS is a dictatorship :)

If you want to give an argument to try to persuade me to make this change, I'm listening. (I'm fairly reluctant, mostly since 'normal' is in the name, partly because I like the functionality of having rare magical missiles that can penetrate the spell.)

I am not good about persuasion but in BG2 protection from normal missiles appears to be useless for enemies mage especially because there is a lot of magical ranged weapons in Bg2  ( I mean the kind of ranged weapons returning to the wielder hand.)

Also I don't know if it is intented but in my current game, my arrows of fire and acid can penetrate protection form normal missile. I am not sure to understand what exactly protectiopn from normal missile is protecting from by reading the description of SCS readme.

Does this description mean that standard +2 arrow/bolt/bullet are supposed to be bloked ? I don't inderstand what is a "formal plus".

But in my current game, it doesn't work correctly. all magical missiles can penetrate PNM. I will try to find a way to fix it.

EDIT : Ok I have copy/pasted the SPW331 from spell revision and increase duration to 5 turns. EZ

Some "bugs" :

1-Irenicus in spellhold use high level abilities in tactical mode .

2-Alchra Diagott  (liche in underdark) also use high level abilities in tactical mode. ( he also get 2 spellprotection from fire level 3 memorized instead of just one )

3- I like to CTRL-Q enemies mages/priest sometimes and I notice that enemies mage using   "impenetrable spirit" (in prebuff ) do not have it memorized in the spellbook.

4- Also I notice that enemies mage get "dimensional door" memorized. When do they use it   and how the player can have acess to this spell ?

5- Fallenplanetar seems to have a insane regeneration. Is it normal ?

6- Demon gated should be invulnerable during the "gate" animation.

Partial answers:

- I’ve never even heard of ‘impenetrable spirit’. I’m guessing some other mod has renamed Stoneskin. And Stoneskin has a 24-hr duration, so wizards can cast it and then rememorize their spells.

- mages use DD to chase you. There are mods that make it available to the PC but SCS doesn’t do it natively, basically because it’s dangerous (you can skip plot-critical triggers).

I am really confusing when I read this description. Does it mean that all magical missiles are blocked except Arrows of detonation, slaying and dispelling ?

No bug, but a general question: Does Carsomyr on-hit dispel bypass SI:Abjuration?

edit: Ok, just tested it myself. It does bypass SI:A. Just like Staff of the Magi does.

 

And on a similar note: why is the on-hit dispel of Carsomyr "nerfed" (Saving Throw) but the very same function on staff of the magi not? To be clear, I am not against that, just interested in the reasoning behind it.

It is very straightforward actually. Does the missile have a + sign in its name, or not? That defines if its blocked or not.

example:

Arrow +2 : it has plus sign so it is not blocked

Arrow of Ice: it doesn't have a plus sign so it is blocked.

The only exception to this rule are the ones that are mentioned: detonation, slaying and dispelling. Meaning these will not be blocked even though there is not a plus sign in the name
