SCS updated to 32.6 (now 32.8)

Version 32.6 (edit: 32.7) of SCS is now out. Incremental changelog: 

  • Updated function library to use a new and hopefully more reliable area-reflecter for Abazigal's lair
  • Various fixes to the NPC customiser:
    - Mage/Thief is now available as a multi-class option; fighter/mage/thief is not duplicated
    - Sorcerers should now level up correctly
    - Characters whose class is customized into or out of a multiclass should now level up correctly
    - Customised characters now gain levels according to their new class, not their old class
    - If you dual-class a character, they no longer gain extra XP
    - Sorcerers no longer get extra spells
  • The Shadow Thieves have noted the softening market in heroic quests and have lowered the maximum charge for Spellhold from 1,120,000gp to 120,000 gp.
  • Creatures with immunity to normal weapons no longer use Protection from Normal Missiles
  • Restored compatibility with IWDification
  • Lesser elementals now have the Small animation again
  • Priests normally refrain from attacking under Sanctuary
  • Fiends no longer use spells in the dead-magic area in WK
  • Insect Plague should no longer be cast on targets who are protected from it
  • Innate contingencies should now use the correct level for dual-class and multi-class mages
  • The Baldur's Gate thieves' guild have reconsidered their loyalties and no longer automatically support Resar if he attacks the party
  • The Ogre Mage leader in the ambush outside Candlekeep now goes hostile properly
  • Odamaron's lich apprentice is properly named
  • Odamaron's apprentices are now guaranteed to be the same alignment as he is (this prevents Blood War clashes if they all summon fiends)
  • Temporarily disabled Improved Abazigal's Lair component on non-EE installs. The new areas are causing CTDs that I can't immediately work out how to fix (and I don't have time right now for an extended investigation)
  • Improved Shapeshifting now installs correctly on top of CDTweaks "enforce dual-class proficiency restrictions". (There is a bug in the CDtweaks component that corrupts the CLAB files; I fix it en passant.)
  • Random potion drops should no longer lead to occasional crashes on large installs
  • Balors now use Implosion properly
  • "Fine weapons" component no longer removes magic weapons from summoned undead
  • Cleared up some minor issues with summoned fiends

Version 32.7 fixes a nasty bug in the NPC customization component that crept into 32.6 at the last minute.

I have failed to reproduce the following reported bugs:

  • Enemies aren't ignoring Mordenkainen's sword 
  • HLAs disappear over time
  • Entropy Shield doesn't block Remove Magic
  • Dragons aren't getting extra HP on insane
  • Casting Freedom on Imprisoned creature causes problems with NPC-custom component
  • Firetooth doesn't kill trolls
  • Enemy wizards cast Truesight when no targets

It's always possible that I fixed them in passing while doing something else - but if you encounter any of these bugs, please do let me know, and tell me in as much detail as possible how to reproduce them.

Version 32.8 fixes a compatibility issue with Spell Revisions v4b17 and newer.  This is a community update, so don't blame DavidW if there's anything wrong with it.

i reported about firetooth problem before.

it didn't happen becuz of scs.

other mod affected firetooth.

Found a weird bug with NPC Customization component. NPCs keep getting enough additional xp to level up one level after another. Tried on an EET install with Imoen, Xzar and Montaron all getting enough xp for the first level, then second and so on.

I have the same problem, I just recruted Imoen and she doesn't stop levelling up, I have to give her XP with the console to stop it. I also have another problem, the NPC customiser only works on NPCs that are in BG2. That means, that for the BG1 part, only Imoen, Jaheira, Minsc, Edwin and Viconia benefit from it, none of the other BG1 or SoD NPCs does.

I play with EET and some other mods like SR and IR but I can't see any mod who could cause this.

The customization function itself works on those too, but still has the over-levelling issue.

Another related issue is that NPC's start with 10 HP and retain them upon levelling up. Level 1 Imoen therefore has 18 HP, Level 1 Xzar has 14 HP and so on.

I have same problem with the HP, on the previous version it didn't happen.

Do you use BG1NPCproject? If not it could be the mod that makes the component not work for the NPC from BG1 in y game

Since this is my 1st post, I wanted to say thank you @DavidW for making such a great mod. I came here to report the NPC management bug and I see others have the same problem. When Imoen joins me outside the Candlekeep she can be leveled to max level. Same goes for Montaron (and presumably any other NPC). I had only SCS and item randomiser installed. Tried [R]e installing just the NPC component to no avail. When I removed just the NPC component it fixed itself.

Hello; let me first thank you for the great mod;  I constantly get the Fail to Initialise AI error, the component which is required for all other AI things. I think it is some dependency issue but I am not a modder of this game so I have no idea. Does anyone else have this issue or similar ones?

@DavidW I know you have previously rejected the idea of utilizing IWD spells alongside SR spells for the AI. I was wondering if you could be convinced to make an exception for clerics in particular, who could really use some of the defensive benefits from the IWD spells.. in particular from the Divine protection and entropy shield spells. 

Would that be something you might consider doing?

Yes, I do. I have tried to include my debug file, except, the web site won't allow me to download anything over 0.25MB. However the WeiDU text file is here;

The error message that I received was:

ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'

The version of Stratagems is v32.6 and I am trying to install it to a BG2 with TOB game. The version of WeiDU is v246.
