SCS updated to 32.6 (now 32.8)

Yes, I do. I have tried to include my debug file, except, the web site won't allow me to download anything over 0.25MB. However the WeiDU text file is here;

WeiDU.log

The error message that I received was:

ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'
Resource [hidespl.2da] not found in KEY file:
 [./chitin.key]

The version of Stratagems is v32.6 and I am trying to install it to a BG2 with TOB game. The version of WeiDU is v246.

At a guess, it's a problem caused by using a separate version of ToBEx rather than the SCS-included version.

If so, workaround: don't install ToBEx, or else try installing it after SCS. (You can enable pretty much all the options you have selected in ToBEx just by editing ToBEx's ini files.)

I'll have a look when I get a chance, but it might not be soon.

@DavidW I know you have previously rejected the idea of utilizing IWD spells alongside SR spells for the AI. I was wondering if you could be convinced to make an exception for clerics in particular, who could really use some of the defensive benefits from the IWD spells.. in particular from the Divine protection and entropy shield spells.

Would that be something you might consider doing?

Probably not. The reason I don't use IWD spells alongside SR is that SR's design philosophy is to create a complete balanced spell system. If you think that system lacks defensive options for clerics, take it up with SR's maintainers. I'm not interested in effectively doing my own tweaks to SR (note that I don't use it myself when playing).

I have updated to v32.7 to fix this nasty bug with the NPC customization component, which crept in at the last minute in a foolish change I made after my main testing cycle. That's what I get for trying to do a last-minute release before losing stable internet access for a while...

I'm doing this one in a hurry too, so I apologise in advance for any problems, but I *think* it should be fine. (Testing the NPCs, they seem to work fine now.)

Hi, I still have an issue with the NPC customization component. It works fine with the BG2 NPCs, but in the BG1 part of my EET installation, it only works with the NPCs who are in BG2 like Imoen and Jaheira. All others who only exist in BG1 or SOD are unaffected by the component. I thought first it could be because of BG1NPCproject so I didn't install it, but I still have this issue. Can you please have a look in my weidu and tell me if you see something that could lead to an incompability?

What do you mean? I used the EE mod setup tool to install it, I chose the components that were available. I just had to force the tool to install SCS with SR, is that the problem?

Link to comment

The EE mod setup tool (that’s the tool Roxanne maintains, I assume?) isn’t just a setup tool: it makes unauthorized modifications to SCS. One of those modifications reintroduces into SCS the bug that you’re seeing. If you install manually you shouldn’t see the bug.

Yes that is the tool I used, and I didn't know it makes such modifications. I will try your solution. But if I do it manually, will I be able to "force" the installation of the smarter mages component after SR?

I followed your advice, but when I try to install SCS it does not work. I can't install anything because it tells me I need the initialize component, which does not appear at all. I spent hours installing manually other mods first and now I can't complete the installation because my setup-stratagems does not work, I dont understand what is wrong.

No I didn't. When I run the setup-stratagems, I choose the language, then I choose to display everything, and then I don't have the possibility to install any component because the first one which is essential does not appear, so all others are automatically skiped. It's not possible that I missed it because when I run it, it skips everything without letting me the chance to install anything. But it's OK, I will just use Roxanne's setup tool despite the issue I had, at least it makes the installation possible.

I don't get any error message, SCS just skips all the components automatically because the initialize component is needed and missing.

I ran exactly the same installation as in the weidu I posted yesterday, but manually. I downloaded all the mods, extracted them in the right folder, installed them in the right order. But when I ran SCS it simply didn't work, all the components are skipped before I can do anything.
