MacroTofu Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 I want to move Tiax out of Baldur's Gate, but I don't want to start a new game, is there anyway to make it happen? Quote
jastey Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 If you didn't visit either of the areas (where he would be usually, where a mod would move him to) then it should be possible to install such a mod and use your savegame. The problem here is that usually, rearranging the mods' install and continuing with a savegame is often not possible without experiencing funkiness afterwards. Quote
MacroTofu Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 I'll take the risk, I'm still in chapter 1, so it wouldn't be that funky. I want to move him to the zombie village, thing is, I can't find his reference in his original area(AR1100), now I'm stuck. Quote
MacroTofu Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 (edited) I set him at the entrance of zombie village, but failed to make him appear, should I also directly place him on that map? Edit: Tiax appeared in his new location in a new game, I guess you just have to do that to make things work Edited December 4, 2019 by MacroTofu Quote
jastey Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 If you spawn him via script it would work on a running game as well. That of course means you'd need to write your own mod. .. But did you have a look at Tweaks Anthology and SCS for their possibilities to move Tiax elsewhere (not sure SCS still offers this tweak)? Quote
MacroTofu Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 SCS doesn't offer this tweak anymore, and Anthology also requires a new game. I think I could write a simple script to spawn Tiax next to my character, but the original Tiax would still be inside Baldur's Gate. I guess it is a dead end. Thanks for your patient helps Quote
jastey Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 You could just pretend you found Elminster's Great Scroll of Teleportation: cheat into Tiax' area, let him join, cheat back again... Unless, of course, visiting that area was one of the chapter increase triggers. Quote
MacroTofu Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 (edited) Well guess what, turns out you can use NearInfinity to edit your save file, and GAM is saved in save file! I found Tiax(showing as *iax), changed his location, and there he is in the zombie village! Edited December 5, 2019 by MacroTofu Quote
