Guest voodoojazz Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I can't seem to install BG1 NPC Project because of a supposed "Parsing.Parse_error" "ERROR: parsing [tb#_compile_eval_buffer/bg1npc/phase2/dlg/x#kagqst_ee.d]: Parsing.Parse_error ERROR: compiling [bg1npc/phase2/dlg/x#kagqst_ee.d]! ERROR: Parsing.Parse_error The BG1 NPC Project: Banters, Quests, and Interjections (BG1 NPC Project) was not installed due to errors." I'm assuming that the parsing error means that there was a typo in the file "x#kagqst_ee.d" But i have literally zero experience in coding. Could this get fixed? Or is this only a particular case that i am receiving? Thank you. (Also where is the file "SETUP-BG1NPC.DEBUG"? It says please make a backup of the file and look for support here, here is the following line that had directed me to this forum, thank you for your time): "Please make a backup of the file: SETUP-BG1NPC.DEBUG and look for support at: The BG1 NPC Project Team: forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showforum=45" Quote
jastey Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 The DEBUG should be in your game folder, same level as the setup-bg1npc.exe. The install error is a known bug related to the EE Setup Tool and does not occur if you install bg1npc directly. The solution is starting a new install on a clean game. Quote

Ah, thank you for your response! So like, do i have re-install BG:EE 1 and BG:EE 2 from scratch, and restart my mod installation from scratch? Maybe i should lower my mods that i'm going to install... Quote
jastey Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Here is another player report with the same problem. Here they describe what they did to solve it. I fear the answer to your question is yes (install from scratch). Once you reinstalled from scratch, make a copy of your game folders. For modding, it is preferable to use a copy of the original game because then you have a clean install you can just copy&paste in case mod installation goes wrong, and also automatic updates will not wipe your installation.
