Guest retronade Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Greetings, I start to question my own memories! I was sure I used a mod for IWD last time I played the game several years ago which removed the restrictions for the kind of weapons a class could use. It was kind of a tweak pack which asked in the cmd line which components to install much like the The Tweaks Anthology. I searched the whole internet for at least three times. But naye, no luck. Maybe it was the "IWG Tweak pack"? I can't check because it seems to have disappeared (at least in its original form) after it was included in the Anthology. And this does not include the component I'm looking for. Usually I stick to the given rules, but it drives me crazy that there is no good use for all the missile weapons. Every class which could use these are at the front! And my supporters are all throwing tiny bullets with a sling... Thanks in advance Quote
Jarno Mikkola Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 (edited) In IWD, it's best to use the dual classed characters. You want a mage, dual from a human 2nd level fighter who has STR with at least 15 and INT with 17. You want a cleric, dual from a human ... Yeah, that's the original cheese. There was never IWG Tweak Pack. But there is IceWind Dale Improvements that does indeed allow this. That however doesn't alter the weapon description texts. There might be other mods as well... retronade Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 (edited) Thank you very much! IceWind Dale Improvements indeed it was! I personally never liked dual-classing because I was always waiting - really not enjoying the game - for the first class to kick in again. Therefore I was going to go pure-class again which is why I was looking for said mod. But to be honest I decided otherwise this time and started with all multi-class chars. I didn't liked them neither in former times because they lagged behing my pure-classes. But by using only multi-classes this time I might feel different... On the other hand I usually start the game over and over again when reaching the Vale because I get the feeling I could do better with my party. Let's see how it works out this time... (and then I have the mod now!) Thanks again! Edited March 11, 2020 by retronade Quote
