Cahir's EET Epic Run Mod Order help request

I added the link and I see you have annotated ,thanks ,that's great.

If you know any specific mods it will clash with, call them out.

Off the top of my head, worth researching/testing:

Rogue Revisions, Faiths and Powers, Deities of Faerun, Might and Guile?

Spell Revisions - spell_rev:65:Revised Warrior HLAs

Tweaks Anthology - cdtweaks:2300:Triple-Class HLA Tables

May make sense to move it to 267?

 

 

Maybe in future, a few columns for 'resources edited' might be valuable as a quick reference for whether a mod touched HLAs, Kits, Spells, Items etc.

@4udr4n I'm currently maintaining BGEE and BG2EE modlists on Polish Children of Bhaal site. Maybe it will be useful to you:

BGEE+SoD modlist

BG2:EE modlist

Quick color coding tutorial:

Yellow - mod has native EET compatibility

White - works with BGEE+SoD (for BGEE mods) / BG2:EE (for BG2EE mods). Does not have native EET compatibility.

Brown - works only with BG:EE. Does not work for SoD and does not have EET compatibility.

Just one important thing, for Github mods I've put download links on both CoB lists in such a way that it will download the latest Windows released version (so no untested masters). Unfortunately some modders doesn't use release tags, so in those cases download leads to master branch and I'm assuming it's a stable version. For anyone using other OS, those lists can also be helpful, it would just require a tiny bit more effort to get a proper package.

@4udr4n also, for your sheet I would suggest to keep mod name separated from .tp2 name (currently it's a mix - some mods have real mod name, som tp2 name). I would put mod name in one column (current column "Name") and add another column called "TP2 name" right next to it. Mod name would be handy for mod searching (since tp2 name is a bit harder to get), and tp2 name would be very helpful for creating sorting lists for PI (which kinda requires it).

I have the same issue with EE Mod Setup tool, thus I switched to PI. I prefer to use original mod versions that are properly documented.

As for GH download links for my CoB lists, it's direct download link to mod package, bypassing Release page. It required a bit of work to set up those links correctly, but the upshot is that it always download the latest stable version and in 99% cases I don't need to update it each time mod version changes.

I've filled out the .tp2 names from my current PI order and a few others.

I'm down to E on your BG2EE list and have tidied a load of other things.

My focus will be on getting BG2EE mods in there, but I will include EET compatibility as I go along, so I suggest you focus on BG1, SoD & EET if you intend to use this sheet.

I have added components I plan to install for all mods from the list. Now, I'll start to actually ordering mods. Since you're all more experienced with this than me, I would appreciate some suggestions regarding compatibility, overlapping or redundancy of selected components. It's entirely possible that the list is too bloated, so I'll take any suggestion from you guys. I want to try SCS and Ascension for the first time, actually, but plan to set difficult to Improved, so I could stand a chance. I selected quite a few Spell packs and item packs, to have as much firepower as possible, so this is deliberate. Also I selected many kitpacks, because I'm still undecided which type of character I want to play. It'll be probably some kind of good spellcasting character, maybe multiclassed with something. Don't niw yet.

I hope some of the folks who use a lot of mods will jump in and help you out.  I use very few myself, being quite new to the entire concept of mods.  But I do hope to, someday, expand my mod 'play list', so I'm watching this with great interest.

PPE+thepicturestandard remove the need for Ascension:2300: Sharper portraits of Abazigal and Gromnir for the Enhanced Edition.

ub:20: Extended ToB Item Descriptions may clash with other mods that edit item descriptions.

EEUITweaks:1070: Faydark's Abilities Auto-Roller/Grimlefourbe's BG2 UI has never worked for me. If you get it to work without regular crashes, please tell me exactly what you do. I cannot figure out where my problem is! This works perfectly though: https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/10937/utility-ee-autoroller

I can strongly recommend EEUITweaks:2000:Transparent Sidebars.

With Lighting Pack you may find that increased brightness + daylight is rather bright, I'd recommend lower K but it is a personal preference thing and what monitor/s you have and the lighting in the room you play in will make a huge difference. Maybe play around with these before installing or ensure it is veyr late in your install order so you can tweak.

 

I'll give this another look tomorrow, but there's a start.

 

I'd be worried about the number of tweaks and kits you have, those are the areas I have the most problems in my installs.

Thank you for suggestions @4udr4n! I'm a bit worried that I might take too many tweaks too. That's why I'm open to suggestions which tweak might clash with other tweaks.

Regarding Transparent Sidebars, I wasn't sure if I'll like it, but since you say it's great I might be persuaded.

I tend to combine a ton of tweaks and I think it's generally fine - most are little changes that are narrowly defined.  FWIW I just made a BG2EE install (also first time doing Ascension + SCS together... hopefully it's not buggy, as I'm playing on an iPad).  Here is my weidu.log:

One thing I noted during this install: a couple of tweak mods actually install kits - Refinements does, and I think the CDTweaks "Enforce PnP Proficiency Restrictions on Dual-Classes" does too.  These will likely fail if you install them after the Faiths & Powers Multiclass Clerics component.  In this case, I think I modified the Refinements mod to comment out everythign through line 41 of /Refinements/lib/kit_ee.tpa.  This will mean that the Refinements improved spin Blade HLAs won't work (for me that's okay, since I remove the vanilla Blade kit and use my multiclass replacement instead), and that the Feral Spirit Shapeshifter HLA won't work if you dual-class a Shapeshifter to the fighter class after reaching HLA levels and choosing Feral Spirit (for me that's okay, since I would never do that).

Alternatively, you could try moving Refinements forward in the install order, to in between Might & Guile and FnP Multiclass Clerics.  This would probably be fine. 

(In any event, don't bother installing Refinements' cleric and druid HLAs if you installed the FnP sphere system - FnP sets up its own divine-class HLAs, a number of which are actually from Refinements anyway.)

NB if after installing all your kit mods including FnP Multiclass Clerics, and the number of kits in kitlist.2da is still below ~250, then this doesn't even matter, you can ignore the last three paragraphs.
