Endarire
Greetings! Let's assume I reach the transition point in an EET game to BGII. Irenicus does his thing and we're now in his Secret Lair™. Soon thereafter, we remodel the place by collapsing its entrance then head out the city gate. Regardless of who's in our party, what happens to the BGI/SoD versions of NPCs that have no BGII data? I assume they don't exist in-game now. For example, I assume we won't find Minsc in Nashkel nor Dynaheir in the Gnoll Stronghold once we're in the BGII portion. What about modded NPCs? There may exist a mod that assumes some NPC will be present or in the party for the BGI portion of the game in an area accessible in the BGII portion. What happens to them? Thankee! jastey
That is what the EET_NPC_TRANSITION function takes care of that modders are welcome to use for their NPC mods and usually do. As you correctly assumed, NPCs that were not transferred to BGII in party OR have the transition considered per mod design will no longer be available in BGII but despawn per script action if the EET_NPC_TRANSITION was used on them. (EDIT: I am not saying that not using the EET_NPC_TRANSITION in an NPC mod means the mod is not compatible. It depends on how the author took care of the game transitions.) Quote Link to comment
