installing dvd Bg Collection uk version on windows 10

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone I'm trying to install the original version (I understand not the ee) Im not really sure if I need the easy tutu and the patches or what would be the right path I'll appreciate any input.

(The game and the movies seem to run well on windows xp adaptation) the only problem is the cursor leaving a trail of black frames(like erasing the screen)

The game can be run without any apatation methods/modes. Just install it to a correct place, not the default directory so the OS can actually patch the game if needed, and everything is OK.

NO, the windows adaption modes are not to be used for anything useful, they just break stuff. This is because you are not using video drives ... or other such stuff.

Where you ask to install, either non C drive place, or if you need to use the C drive, then here: C:\Users\<windows user name>\<games or other subfolder>\BG1\ and there you go. And yes, the installer might say that it can't verify if your hard drive has enough space, but that's cause the games installer is very old, and it can be done despite the warning. As it can't calculate space 20 years into the future, when it was not meant to.

Thanks man, gave it a try. didn't work. Installed on the users game subfolder but keeps doing the same.

based on what you explained to me  I assume that game configuration like country region or cache doesn't make a difference either, right?

It shouldn't matter. But your video card settings are likely to cause this. And yes, even if it doesn't have a separate Graphical Processing Unit, it's still called video card settings as an intergrated GPU in a CPU is a GPU.

What you can do is to open up the computers video card settings, and set the graphical acceleration to either preformance or quality depending where it's currently at and check that it worked. Then you should set it for that game, as Windows 10 allows you to set this to each .exe separately too, but I can't find the process as I don't use a English version. So I would have to go look for it...

So from that I know you have the NVIDIA control panel. Start that, and at the very top, you have 3D settings, in which you have the "Adjust Image Settings with (a) Preview", set that to either side, or into the middle:

That should handle it.
