[MOD RELEASE] Blood and Faith, a BG1 Questline Mod

Recommended Posts

Happy to announce the release of v0.9 of Blood and Faith, a BG1 questline mod. It's like my Errant Justice mod, but bigger, better planned, and better executed.

Premise: Too often, criminals get away with their misdeeds for one reason or another. A certain Lathanderite cleric wants to change that, but she needs your help. This is a tale of blood and faith, a tale of damnation… or of redemption.

I consider this to be a beta release, as I'd like it to be a bit more polished. This mod is fully functional as-is. I'm just not sure on whether or not the boss-fights are well-balanced and I can't figure out how to change Eloran's voice to one that I like. Maybe I'll also add more roleplaying options and Eloran dialogue too.

To play the mod: Kill Bassilus and then speak to Eloran at the Lathander Temple next to Beregost. Ideally, you start in Chapter1 (or very early Chapter 2) and sprinkle in Eloran's quests as you progress through the game's Main Questline.

Yeah tackling Bassilus usually happens well into chapter 3 in my games.

Wow Bassillus at chap 1, you're way more optimistic than I am :D

Thanks for letting me know--I usually get him in Chapter 1 myself. I might tweak the questline's beginning to not need his death then. It's not a big deal if you start it in Chapter 3, but Eloran's early reference to calling you inexperienced/new to adventuring might be a bit immersion breaking if you've already cleared out the mines by then.

For the first quest, I had to look up the walkthrough to find the widow at the Red Sheaf - because the homeowner tells you she is at the Jovial Juggler.

Sorry about that! I've added fixing that to my to-do list for the next update.

Eh, I feel like you are still pretty inexperienced. Clearing the Nashkel Mines is about as much experience as going from Threshold to your first encounter with Bargle.

Yes, dating myself there.

Yes, mine is an adventurer, yours is a farmer :D

you laugh, but that's where he found the ankheg armor he needed to start adventuring. A shame he had to sell it, considering that I don't understand why a barbarian can't weak ankheg armor, even if I can definitely see them doing so.

[ghost quest] I can't find the neighbour of Firebead. Which house should I enter?

Edit: found it, it's on the right of colquetle. I had thought the house would be "not habitated".
