shadow85 Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I am lookikg forward to do a new run of BG2EE with Ascension mod or SCSII, maybe item randomiser aswell. Just wondering, do I need EET? What exactly will EET do for me? Quote
megrimlock Posted October 6 Posted October 6 If you don't plan to play through BG1 and SoD before BG2 then no, you don't need EET as that mod exists only to make such a playthrough seamless. Quote
DraikenWeAre Posted October 6 Posted October 6 (edited) For me personally, It just feels more compact to have all the games in one game, especially with NWN in EET and IWD in EET. Then the fact your character can backtrack within areas , makes it feel more immersive and additionally, not feel constrained for time, as normally when you reach the end of these games in thier individual campaigns, that's it, they just end and you can't go back and do other things, but with mods like transitions and subtledoctor's reflections, these endings just become part of the journey in the big world of BG I guess. But no, it's not mandatory. Edited October 6 by DraikenWeAre Quote
subtledoctor Posted October 7 Posted October 7 (edited) EET puts BG1, SoD, and BG2 into the same game - specifically, it imports the BG1 and SoD campaigns into the BG2EE application. This can have various benefits. It lets you play from level 1 through ToB without having to export/import your game; it ensures certain game data is in accord so it does not get disrupted in the export/import process (e.g. mod-added kits); it enables the installation of certain mods designed for an EET environment (e.g. Cowled Menace, Reflections of Destiny, IWD1_in_EET, IWD2_in_EET). If none of those things seem like things you plan to use in your game, then you don’t need EET. Edited October 8 by subtledoctor Quote

subtledoctor Posted October 8 Posted October 8 (edited) tf are you talking about? It does the same thing on every platform. It puts BG1 and SoD into BG2 - full stop. For anyone new around here, you will eventually come to notice that Jarno makes a habit of trying to confuse people. This is your yearly reminder to ignore/block him and look for posts that seem simpler and more helpful. By happy coincidence, the simpler and helpful posts also tend to be the most accurate ones. I'll just remind you that the game doesn't have an .app file on a PC at all... so taking about an .app on the context of PC is kinda fucked, unless you talk about emulation, which we are not. subtledoctor Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Dude I said nothing about a .app file extension. I said “the app.” As in the application, the program, the game. Welcome to the 21st century, we call them apps now. Quote

Well, I was born in the last centurY, I'll stay there ... since that was when Windows was created, thanks. And just so you know, it was also the century when you called your less than refined friend, assholes, asshole. Quote
