Aedrian Posted November 12 Posted November 12 (edited) Hello. Since I really don't like BG2EE's default interface, I've ported the one from IWDEE. I'm sharing it since I didn't find other similar mod. IWDEE-UI-BGEE 1) Overview: This mod completely replaces Baldur's Gate 1 Enhanced Edition & Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition's default user interface with the one from Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition. The mod comes with two components: - core: an almost identical reproduction of the user interface from IWDEE is installed for BG1EE, SOD, BG2EE or EET. However, because of some differences between the games, a few minor things have been altered/removed/added. - extra: additional changes and tweaks for the core component of this mod made by it's author, in suit with his personal preferences. For example: further tweaked the game's text, overhauled side bar buttons, in-game's clock replacement, tooltip replacement, etc. 2) Requirements: - BG1EE,SOD,BG2EE,EET - v2.6.6.0 3) Installation: - download the provided zip file, and copy the contents into your games's base folder. Run the setup-IWDEE-UI-BGEE.exe, and your good to go. 4) Compatibility with other mods: - as a user interface mod, it should be installed as early possible, before any other mods. - this mod is not compatibile with other user interface mods like: Lefreut's Enhanced UIs, Dragonspear UI+, Infinity UI++ or any other mods which change the same things as this one. - mods which alter the UI.MENU file afterwards might not always be compatible. - other mods like portraits, quest, rule modifications mods are(or should be) compatible. 5) Download from github: IWDEE-UI-BGEE 6) Screenshots: Edited November 12 by Aedrian added screenshots Quote
Felipe Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Thank you for the mod. It would be nice to have some pics to see how it looks like. Quote
Aedrian Posted November 12 Author Posted November 12 I've added screenshots to the original post. Quote
subtledoctor Posted November 12 Posted November 12 (edited) This is a lovely idea, BUT the official IWDEE UI for filling sequencers is kinda busted, it just presents spells in a row and if you have too many memorized they will go off the screen and prevent you choosing some of them. IIRC. That's the only thing that would give me pause - otherwise, I agree the IWD aesthetic is soooo much better. EDIT - actually it looks like this is the regular BG2EE UI, just with IWDish textures? Or something? So maybe that's not an issue. The screenshots look great, I would love to use this in my next install. Is this bound to any particular screen ratio? The iPad game plays at 1024x768... would this work for that? Aedrian Posted November 12 Author Posted November 12 (edited) For the mage book and priest scrolls I've initially ported them exactly like in IWDEE but after further testing I've ended up just reskinning the default one from BG1/2EE ( with exactly the same functionality) I've attached some screenshots from v1.1 The mod is not bound to any particular screen ratio, it behaves exactly like the default user interface. 1024x768 should work perfectly. Aedrian Posted November 13 Author Posted November 13 No problem. If anyone plays with the mod installed, I would welcome any feedback (good or bad). I've tested it myself, but perhaps I've missed something. Quote
