moog Posted November 16 Posted November 16 Hey Gang, I'm starting another run-through of BGEE. Years ago, I put together a mini-mod of some spell changes I like. It includes a couple of custom spells. In the past, it's installed without a problem. This time, the spells are not displaying their names and descriptions. It's as if the installation can't read the language/english file. That's odd, because it's reading the parts relevant to the installer. I get the following error message: "Invalid: 34000," with the number increasing for each subsequent name/description. The number is pointing to a string reference. If it's relevant, I'm using Weidu 249. Any idea what this could be? Quote
CamDawg Posted November 16 Posted November 16 Are you installing to the same language that you're playing? weidu.conf will tell you to which language tlk WeiDU is installing. Quote
jmerry Posted November 16 Posted November 16 (edited) And which language you're playing in can be changed in the game's options menu. I considered the unmerged DLC possibility ... but no, SoD has strings at those numbers. You'd be seeing "Crown of Lies" instead of "Invalid: 34002" if that were the issue. moog Posted November 16 Author Posted November 16 I think you've found it. From weidu.conf: lang_dir = cs_cz Is this Czech? Can I just weidu.conf? Quote
Graion Dilach Posted November 16 Posted November 16 No, you need to reinstall everything after it. You can't really copy-paste over the tlk changes. Quote
moog Posted November 16 Author Posted November 16 I just edited weidu.con to en_us and reinstalled. Everything is fine now. Thanks, everyone! Quote
jastey Posted November 17 Posted November 17 @moog JFI, if you delete the weidu.conf file, the prompt about which game language the mod should be installed to will be available upon the next mod installation again. I would always first deinstall mods and then delete the weidu.conf. Quote
