hello guys,

i'm from the liflg project and i'm looking for some tester for the gemrb/game installers.

it's especially for newbies (and cracks as well) who want to check gemrb out or had some trouble

with the installation and configuration under linux (of course).

the installation is very simple.....

coming soon: bg1 and bg2:tob also bg2-dvd edition

with most og the games i have quite big problems with the load/save function. (sometime segfault (pst))

please do bug reporting for the installer and also for bugs in gemrb itself.

thank ron

I'm a big fan of liflg and I appreciate what you are doing, but this may be too soon for a loki installer. When software gets a nice installer it is easy for a normal user to assume that it is fully usable, but GemRB is not fully usable yet. Combat has not even been implimented. I'm not saying you should'nt make the installers, but you should make sure it is obvious to the user that GemRB is still mostly just for developers/testers.

With that said, some installers could help bring in more developers/testers. I have to admit that I was almost scared off by the complexity (more like obscurity) of setting everything up. Some installers would help with that.

I didn't say developers, because developers (even casual contributors) should use the CVS version :)

I would actually argue that testers should also be using the CVS. I've filed bug reports in the past only to find out that it's already been fixed in the project's CVS.

Well, but seeing the progress must have convinced you to bother with the cvs :O
