Spellcasting in armor

Since 3e bards are able to cast spells in leather armor, I was thinking maybe an optional tweak that requires the spellcasting in heavy armor would be neat. I'd like to see a tweak that gives the bard a bonus to his spell success chance to offset the casting penalty imposed by leather armor.
