I can't get the NPC Project mod to install. The log file=

I'm trying to install it into a standard EasyTuTu_ToB installation+Finch+Indera.

Well, there are two conditions that the installer checks before allowing the installation to start in the beginning of the TP2, to make sure that the game is TUTU'zed and that you run the install in the proper folder. One checks for BIFF from BG2 and another - for presence of FW0100.ARE. And this check fails in your case.

 

Do the following:

 

-Make sure that you run it in BG2 folder. For the sake of experimenting just put it there.

 

-If that does not work comment out (put double slashes //) before those two checks in the file called Setup-BG1NPC.TP2 like this:

 

// (coded line that ends in the error message you are getting).

There's no Setup-BG1NPC.TP2 in my BG2 folder after installing BG1NPC-v.11.exe (3415kb) into it. I get a file folder called G3 BG1NPC with 634 files and 116 folders, a Set-upBG1NPC.exe and a file just called BG1NPC.TP2.

 

If I make the alterations you suggest to the ^ TP2 file I get the following debug file:

My installation order was:

 

1. BG1 + ToSC + Patch 5512

2. BG2 + ToB + Patch 26498

3. EasyTuTu_ToB

4. FinchNPCv2

5. IndiNPC

6. Sirinescall

7. Song and silence.

8. NPCproject?

 

I also couldn't install Tutu-tweaks to my BG11 folder, receiving the following error message:

 

ERROR: Failure("This mod should be installed in your BG2 folder, after the Tutu conversion.") - which is what I thought I was doing.

 

I've worked through the game as far as Nashkell and have Finch as an NPC in the party. Have not encountered Indira or Sirinescall yet.

means that the conversion did not converted Yeslick's dialogue file. In other words, your conversion seems to be incomplete. I don't know if this is a result of Easy TUTU being 'mild' on the incomplete conversions or changing the resources... but the install hicks up because you do not have all the files necessary converted from BG1 to BGTUTU format.

This thread was brought to my attention over at PPG.

 

Both versions of EasyTutu (SoA and ToB) DO include _BYESLI.DLG. This can be easily verified by anyone -- simply download either version of EasyTutu, decompress the setup files, and examine the contents of the TutuCore.exe self-extracting RAR. You'll find _BYESLI.DLG among the override folder files, where it is supposed to be.

 

I'd speculate that one of two things is going on: either the OP is having some sort of hard drive issue, or perhaps did not install BG1NPC on top of EasyTutu. The latter is certainly possible, since EasyTutu does NOT exist in the main BG2 directory where Tutu normally is found (it creates a completely separate installation). Hence, it would be all too easy for someone using EasyTutu to install a Tutu mod on top of their regular BG2 installation out of habit.

 

I will monitor this thread to watch for anything further which might require my response.

from the log file strongly suggests the original SoA installation is in play here.

Hello -

 

You probably should advise then to the user where EasyTUTU is going to end up, and where he must run BG1NPC and Tweaks installers to capture the data.

 

The end user selects the desired destination folder during installation. (EDIT: the default is a subfolder named "BaldursGateTutu" within the main "Program Files" folder).

 

I tried to cover these issues as clearly as possible on the EasyTutu page, but I am certainly open to constructive criticism regarding the information and instructions presented there if you have any.

I took a quick look over it, and I think that if you'd be able to explain in your "Mods" section that the mods that would normally be run in the BG2 directory muct be run at the whatever directory EasyTUTU (BaldursGateTUTU, I assume) is installed, that would address the issue. Thank you for coming over and helping to resolve the problem.

I'll also continue to keep an eye out here to make sure the OP confirms installing BG1NPC on BG2 instead of on EasyTutu.
