SET_STRING OUT OF RANGE? GRR!

I just completed BGII so I thought I'd check out some of the mods but when I try to install them, I keep getting an error that says "SET_STRING 73245 out of range 0 -- 63510" "Stopping installation because of error." This error keeps popping up on every mod that I try to install. I read that some other people have had this problem in the past but I can't find a posted solution. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you're installing a mod that requires Throne of Bhaal, but you have an SoA-only install.

 

What mod, specifically, is giving the error?

This means WeiDU is trying to set a string value beyond the end of dialog.tlk. It seems like you have a mod trying to set a string up in the ToB range and you only have SoA.

Hmm, yeah I think that's the problem. I only have SoA. But none of the mods I tried specifically said that they needed ToB. Should really make it more clear on the download page.

sigh i have this problem too... i'm trying to install "Check the Bodies", but it doesn't work!!!

I would advise you ask the creators of Check the Bodies--it is likely to be a similar problem. I believe CtB is currently hosted at http://www.spellholdstudios.net
