I know this is an old topic, but i was searching for help with making an item for my mage that will make him cast spells faster and more spells per round and i have to say this post helped alot and thanks to all who contributed.

but i also found it odd people saying this doesnt work with BG1

 

Well it does indeed work well in BG1 (ToTSC installed)

 

i made a "book" (it's not really a book^^) for my mage that "eats the magical aura thats left after the casting of a spell" it's really a beautiful item, has a hole in it and all XD

 

- i used near infinity,

- made a new item,

- added an effect to the item,

- chose "increase spells cast pr. round (188)",

- below the "spells pr. round" parameter you have an "unknown" parameter with all 00 00 00 00

- just change it to 01 00 00 00

 

this works well in BG1:ToTSC

if only i knew how to make spell casting faster ^^, well maybe in the future i'll find out.

This is known. In IESDP the effect is called Aura Cleansing and the second parameter needs to be set to 1. The first parameter does nothing.
