teinomana
Hi to everyone, I'm workhing in a total conversion of BGII based in the idea that the PC group travel to the real-today-shopping-obsessed world. I'm preparing the website with some screenshots and files to download, I'll post it here when I'm done... I would like to ask your help in the following problem: when I disable the movies through the baldur.ini file, everytime my party go to sleep the pointer/mouse disappears!! If I enter another screen and then go back to the main action screen, the pointer is back... Strange, isn't? Did that happen to you?? Any help would be much appreciated! Link to comment
teinomana
Hi again, Finnally, what I found is this: In order to get rid of the annoying intro animations, you can: A- If the installation is FULL, just delete the bif under CD2/movies/movies.biff B- If the installation is from CD, delete de movies.biff from the chitin.key (using DLTCEP, for instance) I tried B and it worked. I guess that when I distribute my mod people won't have to worry about intro movies... Any other suggestions? Thanks. Link to comment
BigRob
You can probably work something into a Weidu installer that would automatically overwrite the bif file if a full install was detected. I'm not sure how you would go about editing the chitin.key though. I wish you the best of luck with the project though, a TC of any kind is a collossal amount of work, and if you're going to put it in a modern setting... that's a lot of new areas/animations and other stuff to have to make. Perhaps you could try a very short side adventure for a BG party to start with, to limit the amount of work required. Link to comment

I'm not sure how you would go about editing the chitin.key though. I've done that . I didn't think anyone would have a use for it, though. You can download it here if you like. I think it's a mistake to try make a TC, though. Link to comment
teinomana
Thank you, I'll have a look at your installer! You are right that doing a TC is a huge amount of work. Actually, mine is a short side adventure, limited to only 10 small diferent areas, and I'm putting very few new animations. But I did finish the new areas, and the main setting, and modifyed the whole interface graphics... When I finish with the scripting I'll have to tidy up the package and make the installer... and it will be finished. For the moment, I learned a lot of things on doing areas, graphics and animations, and some scripting, but nothing about packaging the mod, that will be my next step, and that's why I asked your help... I'm working in a web, will post it here when it's online. About editing the chitin.key, I did it with no problems, I suppose it's ok to tell weidu to include the edited chitin.key if the previous installation is not full? Link to comment
BigRob
WeiDu may well be able to drop an edited chitin.key (or at least you should be able do it with a batch file), but the user may have to manually back it up beforehand should they wish to do an uninstall... poking around the "how-to" forum should provide some more info. teinomana
As I promised, here is the link: www.shoplifting2.com I'm still working in the installer, it's kind of crazy with more than 100 new items, all the dialogs... I need testers, so any help will be welcome. Thanks. Link to comment
