Margrave Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I tried an install of a monster with BG2T this morning and ammo couldn't stack beyond 40. I had map problems (WMv6) and am doing a fresh install so I don't know if gems, potions, scrolls, and jewelry were also affected. The store was also only selling in stacks of 20, I can't remember if BG2T had a stores sell bigger stacks option or not.
dragonian Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I have no problems with this component. My archer has a stack of 2000 arrows
Margrave Posted July 9, 2006 Author Posted July 9, 2006 It was installed nearly last I think, definitely after BP-BGT. I don't have my weidu log from that install so I can't know exactly when it was installed. I'm going to give it another shot with the install I'm working on now.
CamDawg Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 OK. It's possible something installed after BG2T overwrote its changes.
Margrave Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 I think this was caused by AoE because I just had to reinstall AoE at the end to get the pitfighter kit to show up so went through all of it and had the ammo problem again. I also found that it reverted the changed weapon proficiencies.
Margrave Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 It seems the two mods are mutually exclusive. If the tweaks for ammo stacking, bastard swords, katanas, and revamped weapon proficienceis are implemented after AoE it kills the AoE content and vice versa. This wan't a problem with the three tweak pack install as I definitely had unlimited ammo stacks, 2 handed bastard/katanas, the improved proficiencies as well as the AoE content for weapons and the pit fighter kit. On an tangentally related item, the tutu tweak modified BGT stores to sell bigger stacks of ammo but isn't an option in BG2 Tweaks. Yet I have to buy in lots of a score (20). Should this be an issue or is it also likely related to AoE?
Margrave Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 Well, by unistalling BG2 tweaks, reinstalling AoE, the armor component of refinements, then tutu, G3, EoU I was able to make things happy again (ie 2 handed katanas, ammo stacking, etc with the AoE & refinements weapon and armor restrictions). If this can be implemented with the 3 seperate mods there ought to be a way to implement with the combined tweak pack. On a side note Winthrop is still selling ammo in lots of 20. I haven't left Candlekeep yet and I reloaded a save so I'm not sure if that will change with other merchants.
Margrave Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 Hey all, I bumped this thread up because it had fallen off the first page and I think it is an actual issue. There has to be something wrong if the individual tweak packs were compatible with AoE but the compilation isn't. Cheers
Grim Squeaker Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 CamDawg is the coder for this project and he's moving house. I'm sure he'll look at it more thoroughly when he's a little less busy.
CamDawg Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 OK, all moved in and back online. Well, by unistalling BG2 tweaks, reinstalling AoE, the armor component of refinements, then tutu, G3, EoU I was able to make things happy again (ie 2 handed katanas, ammo stacking, etc with the AoE & refinements weapon and armor restrictions). If this can be implemented with the 3 seperate mods there ought to be a way to implement with the combined tweak pack. What's happening here is dueling item descriptions, I believe. Unlike the actual items, the descriptions themselves can't be patched--it's easy to change an item 817 ways by 817 mods, but it's damn near impossible to get the descriptions to match all of those changes. In general, the description from the last mod will take precedence--the changes that AoE makes should be there, but the description won't properly reflect them. Try it out and see if the AoE changes are actually not present or if it's just an inaccurate description. For a long time Tweaks never bothered to update item descriptions because there was a good possibility of something like this being reported. On a side note Winthrop is still selling ammo in lots of 20. I haven't left Candlekeep yet and I reloaded a save so I'm not sure if that will change with other merchants. Locally, I've been able to run this component and get the higher stacks. Had you already visited Winthrop before installing this component? Stores are included in save games, so it's not possible to later stores once they've been visited. One thing I have changed is opening this tweak up to BGT and vanilla BG2 games.
