beta install error (Mac)

This probably isn't too significant, but I noticed the following showed up several times during WeiDu install:

ERROR locating resource for 'get_ids_map'

Resource [sHOUTIDS.IDS] not found in KEY file:

[./chitin.key]

I'm using Mac OS 10.4.7 on a fresh (archived) Tutu installation. Additionally, when I tried earlier to fix the Bentley-Eldoth store oddities per http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=7594, using BBEdit Lite, the installer crashed completely (rolled back, etc.).

Hmm, this doesn't exactly ring any cathedral-size bells, but I think 'SHOUTIDS.IDS' might be a ToB-only file. Are you running a SoA or ToB TuTu conversion?

I'm not sure how making those edits would cause the installation to fail, but as it's a cosmetic issue that most gamers won't even see (Eldoth not being among the most popular of NPCs) you might as well wait for the final release for this fix.

SoA â€â€Ã‚ the first time I tried a ToB conversion it didn't work; couldn't save right after the conversion.

Looking back in the debug files, I noticed that the same message came up with Sirines Call. In both cases, the installation proceeded fine, and I haven't had anything come up yet in game.

Makes sense to me.

Not being able to save was most likely due to the bug in which the ToB app mistakenly creates its temp folder as a file (to fix it delete the file and make a 'temp' folder in its place) - it's not a TuTu issue, but unfortunately it causes many people to think that their conversion is botched.

I have no easy way to confirm it, but it seems quite likely that 'SHOUTIDS.IDS' is indeed a (non-crucial) ToB file.

Yes, shoutids.ids is a ToB-only file. As part of the changes to allow ToB actions/triggers to be used in SoA, Heard() and Shout() are changed to allow numerical values and reference shoutids.ids (as they do in ToB) instead of only numerical values (as it is in SoA). I suppose we could do it the same way the Fixpack does--if there's no shoutids.ids already present in the game, we could add the default ToB one.

Ah - didn't think of that. Next time I try a conversion I'll remember to do that. Are there any Tutu mods that require ToB, or other advantages?

Thanks for confirming.

The big advantage IMO is TAB-key highlighting - a real timesaver. There's also the ability to play a wild mage, which can be great fun at BG1 levels. Additionally ToB-TuTu is generally more stable than SoA-TuTu in my experience. (Perhaps due to v.212 being a more stable build than v.112) As far as mods that require ToB-TuTu go, one which I use myself is Refinements - in case you want to play a Sword Angel or use its shapeshifting fixes (HLAs, the main feature of Refinements aren't exactly relevant to TuTu).

I thought we did that already... I will check. Just in case (and because I have finished all of the blasted !Global("endofbg1","GLOBAL",2) additions to the BAF and D files for the combined installer and am hitting the tp2 after I go eat something, could you toss the code snippet here, please?
