I am new here and just got an account. Just like to say very nice mod and haven't had any problems yet, that is of course if what I relate next is not a problem.

 

Ok, first I have a whole list of installed mods of which I don't have the list at work. The version that I have I think is 2.0, might be 2.1 as it hasn't been that long since it was installed. Here is the story. I find the clues to where ymert (sp) is and meet lorraine outside, after a heavy pummeling she starts the dialogue about helping her. So I get inside and make it up the stairs then meet the big Y and his pet yuan ti, after a heavy battle in which lorraine dies I use the machine to free the souls from the gems. After using the green one to free lorraines son, he starts the banter that mother has passed before him and that if he had a wish he would wish for a happy life for her.

 

I am not sure if this is the end or if there is something else. I certainly hope its not the end. I have tried a couple things, I used a rod of resurrection and a raise dead spell on the ghost, neither worked. I have a wish scroll that I cast and there was nothing that had to do with the boy.

 

So is this the end and is the boy doomed to wander as a ghost?

When I played it Lorraine survived the battle (we beat down Ymmyrt pretty quickly), and she said goodbye to her son who vanished.

Thanks for the info, that must be the key for her to survive. Too bad it is left hanging if she does not, you can't control her actions and those greater yuan-ti drive me nuts.

The ghost boy should not be left hanging there even if Lorraine does not survive; there must be something wrong with that dialogue path and we'll have to take a look at it. By using the soul gem on the machine you have managed to free his soul and he should now be able to move on whether his mother lives or not.

 

It should not affect anything down the line, but we should fix it in any case; thanks for reporting this.

Right on thanks for the info. Due to the oisig bug and not talking to me in a timely manner I had to restart everything as I couldn't get into the cult of the eyeless. So I will be doing that part of amber again and will post what happens.

Played through it again after starting over due to other issues, noticed that just before the kidnappers appear if they cannot talk with amber (aka your party or objects are blocking them) the game freezes. You might want to make the dialogue start automatically when the cut scene is finished and not require a direct link between amber and the mage. Just a suggestion.

 

During the battle with y I had to cheat and turn down the difficulty as that greater yuan-ti casting machine tore my party apart. I have improved anvil installed and they really went over the top for that monster. Anyway, Lorraine survived and her sons ghost was released, all is well.

I got improved anvil at the blackwyrms lair, however it has been down for a couple of weeks, not sure what is going on. However, I have heard that amber will not be compatible with improved anvil 4.0, cannot verify yet till the version 4 comes out. Something with the way they interact at the slavers ship.
