Infinite Assassins

I'm loving the mod so far, just got over the hump and things are starting to meld nicely, i.e. I don't have to re-load dozens of times to win the average battle. But, I've got a huge problem with the Assassins that show up randomly when you enter a wilderness area. I took out the first group, the "amazons" after a few tries, but it's now half a tenday later and whenever I enter a new area the same group appears... then their lycanthropes appear... then another copy... then another... then another.... basically it doesn't stop.

Damn.

 

Sorry about that; upon checking, it's an embarrassingly stupid bug which slipped into v3 at the last moment.

 

As a quick workaround, use the console to enter

 

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("SPRITE_IS_DEADTELKA","GLOBAL",0)

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("DMWWC3Assassion","GLOBAL",4)

 

But I've just sent a replacement off to Cam so hopefully there'll be a downloadable replacement soon.

The beta is about done, appears that everything works fine except the NPC's go to an Inn and NPC Pairs separation. For the life of me I cannot get those 2 to work correctly in BGT. If I email you what I have could you take a look at the code for me? I was hoping to release SCSBGT early next week.

The "Go To an Inn" part will probably require serious reworking, as BGT uses a very different approach for adding the NPCs to a game; I have not been able to research a convenient way to enable this on BGT for BG1 NPC. The pairs separation may be easier, as it may be that dv assignment (lots of revisions on my side for this one; probably the most frustrating part to figure out with differences between default and override scripts!). If you do take a look at the code, CanDawg, please drop a line on how you chnge it or DevWikki it, please, because I am not able to get these worked out either!

Thanks for the info cmorgan, now I dont feel so stupid.

 

The code is exactly the same as the original I only changed the area's to the BGT areas, the code updates the .p files of the npc's correctly and I get the right dialogue options but they just wont leave the area. Jahiera and Khalid leave but they leave forever. I cant get the pairs to separate correctly either.

You know I never have run into these groups of assassins. And I'm in Ch. 7. I started with SCS 2 and upgraded to 3.01 when it was released for my MacEasyTutu game.

 

The groups are (a) Drakar's party, who are originally south of Gullykin; (b) Lamalha's party of amazons, who are on the map which has the tunnel exit from the Nashkel mines. Did you already encounter and kill them before upgrading to SCS 3?

 

If not, and if you can use the console, can you enter

 

CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("DMWWC3Assassin","GLOBAL")

 

and tell me the result?
