What's up with armor descriptions?

Yeah, I have to agree with devSin here. I personally would like to see this information in the description, but they'll get fairly horrible if we start including all of the minutiae like this.

Not if you format them nicely. I've amended several BG1 descriptions and it looks pleasant at the same time as being informative. When I'm playing a D&D game, I want to have D&D descriptions, so I also tend to copy the full description text from whatever book has the best info. (Player's Handbook, DM Guide or Arms & Equipment Guide, usually.)

 

I do tend to agree on the point of long-winded descriptions though, especially after reading some item descriptions in IWD2. Thus I've considered swapping the equipment statistics with the general description so the player can see at a glance what the item is capable of, and then if they want to read the general info/backstory, they can scroll down for that.
